Cambria Hotel Raleigh - Durham Airport

The rooms were nothing like the pictures. There was supposed to be a breakfast buffet and there was only bagels and cereal with a jug of milk to pour on the cereal. There were about 20 pairs of shoes in the hallway and our door looked like it had been kicked in..very disappointed

From the moment I walked in the door I knew that there was going to be an issue. To begin with there was no one at the service counter, and she did not come back for some time. Once I was checked in, I could tell from the state of the elevators that the property had just not been kept up the way it should’ve been. The carpet in the elevator had huge stains on it, and there was some type of substance all along the bottom. Once I checked in the room, I immediately noticed everything was older, and anything that had metal on it was rusted and the chair at the desk, the leather had peeled off of it. I then went into the bathroom and that’s where I found that the sink was broken and cracked, and there were all types of black marks and substances in the tub. From there, I noticed it was very cold in the room and the thermostat was set to 65° which really didn’t make sense since it was 20° outside. When I adjusted the thermostat, it began to blow cold air and that’s when I realized the heat didn’t work. I picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone was broken. Going back to the lobby once again there was no one at the front desk. The phone was ringing off the hook and I just had to wait. They did give me another room which was in a better state but as soon as I open the door to the bathroom, a bug crawled under the sink. Needless to say I was uncomfortable the entire stay, but I will never stay there again and I recommend no one else does either.

El lugar en medio de la naturaleza es muy bonito. No me gustó que la puerta del baño esté averiada, no se cerraba e incluso molestaba el pasillo, pero no reclamé porque llegué prácticamente solo a dormir, el desayuno es muy pobre, no hay nada de fruta. El valor del hotel es muy alto para las condiciones de la habitación y del desayuno.

Nothing really unique. We arrived late and left early for flight. Will visit again when flying.

Proximity to airport

We were in town for a weekend that included being at the airport early in the morning. Chose this one bc of that proximity. It was great for that. Breakfast was adequate and the staff was kind.

Had to change rooms because the heating system smelled so bad. The heating in the new room was very uneven and difficult to maintain a constant temperature. Many items were broken - lamp shades, phones and a lamp. The hotel was older and appeared to be maintained at a minimal level.

Property listing had a restaurant & bar. It has neither. Property description needs updating for travelers arriving after hours. Makes me wonder if Expedia property descriptions can be trusted? High traffic areas are looking worn.

Rooms and building clean and relaxing

Pool closed. Spa closed. One of 2 elevators broken. No TV channel guide. VERY limited breakfast and sub-par quality.

Clean, quiet, no issues.

Staff was lethargic, breakfast was anemic, no coffee both mornings, broken elevator, room was fine.

Pool wasn’t open and breakfast was a bit chaotic.

Very clean and friendly staff upon checkin

The staff at this property seemed somewhat distracted and a bit disinterested in ensuring a great guest experience. We had to return our room keys 4-5 times over a 2-day stay, because they kept malfunctioning (would work at first then lose code & require reprogramming). Also, the power went completely out in our room, and the front desk rep did not seem to know what to do, besides visit the room, which seemed pointless. She said that there was no maintenance person on duty at the hotel (in the middle of the day?!) Eventually, she relocated us to a different room, which was nice. Lastly, the TV in the room was poorly installed and obviously dated; it would not hold a channel's reception, and was VERY slow to respond to the remote. We ended up watching a popular cable channel (ESPN2) on our cell phone, because we could not view it on our room's TV.

This property is very nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast didn’t have many options to be called a buffet breakfast.

Everything was good except they first gave us a room that someone already occupied. Once corrected everything was good.

First time staying at this property,my pros; upon entry very pleased with the smell and look of the hotel, nice lounge area where you can relax and unwind the bathrooms were properly stocked.Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Tye. My cons; the tv was broken in our room but there was no issue for them to put us in a new room but the new room smelt like urine, the phone did not work, the breakfast they provided was horrible only enjoyed the coffee. Don’t think I would revisit
