Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Pierre, SD

Wasn't aware it was right next to train tracks got woke up by trains. Newer remodel but bad carpenter cosmetic issues baseboards falling off no door stoppers so holes in walls from doors.

The staff and service were amazing. The rooms and bathroom doors can be updated

Front doors had problem opening up a couple of times but later worked fine.

You could tell they did some cosmetic upgrades, but areas seemed unfinished. Missing smoke detector in the room, missing drains, missing caulking around trim, dirty vent filters, some outlets didn’t work and extremely drafty windows. There was a beat up truck and trailer full of tires and tumbleweeds parked right outside our window along the back.Hotel is right next to the railroad tracks. Despite it all, the staff was accommodating and the hotel was kept clean. Location was convenient to where our family lives.

Bathtub and sink both plugged

Really need to pay a lot of attention to the bathrooms. Shower doors water marked the rail the doors sit on was NASTY, plus the door to the bathroom doesn’t lock. AND my husband had to fix the bed frame as it fell as he went to get into bed, meaning the leg folded up

The hotel staff was very nice and work efficiently.

Would not recommend staying here - the rooms felt dirty, the workout room had a huge puddle in it and lots of dead bugs. The breakfast area was not clean, and was visibly dirty.

There was a strange odor upon entering the lobby. Don't know if it was incense or something else but it was not pleasant to have to deal with.

Didn’t like the place.

For the price we paid, I didn't expect such limited and tight parking. We had to wait on absent front staff to be able to check in, the toilet seat in the bathroom was loose, there was no tub and only one bedside lamp.

Property looked ok from the outside but the rooms were a bit tired and our sink wasn't very clean. We had a broken down car and a dumpster full of rubbish outside our window as well as a train track. At breakfast, there were no tea bags and mouldy bagels. The wifi kept dropping in and out. Management couldn't care less about any of theses issues.

The room was comfortable even though the temperature controls were not straightforward. This was a good room for a cross country road trip.

Everything that you need were walkable distance (food, shopping, parks, shopping, capitol, etc..). Do note, some facility close a bit early. Room were clean, but had a strange musty smell.

The staff was very friendly, and our stay was more than adequate for the price. Breakfast in the morning was an added bonus.

The room itself was nice, but the area around the outside of the building was not well maintained.

Pierre hotels are substandard in general. All of them are pretty awful.

Do not stay on the west side of the hotel. Tran tracks are next to the hotel on that side. The room itself was fine but the common areas/hallways need to be updated.

Main public areas dirty and stained floors. No parking lot .. shared with drug store and highway workers. Room wasn’t clean… a/c cover fell off the wall. Bathroom light didn’t work properly. Bed spreads were wrinkled and looked dirty. Usually get a good breakfast at this hotel chain … but instead cold boiled eggs and pastries that had to be several days old. Our worst experience with a hotel ever!

The biggest complaint is that it doesn’t look anything like the photos on Expedia and I actually think Expedia bares some responsibility for that. It looks like a modern clean ‘Radisson’ type hotel, newly renovated in the photos but that is not the experience. The exterior is run down, next to a casino, panhandlers (one asked us for a ride to Walmart)…There is really nothing that is finished on this renovation, old dirty bathtub, old sheets…we wished we had chosen a different location. Again I think they might be trying to revamp but they aren’t there yet and the photos are false advertising. It was noisy too. The staff was nice enough and I don’t think it is their fault. Hope Expedia reconsiders allowing the photos that are up there so that we have a better idea of what we are booking.
