Extended Stay America Suites Newark Woodbridge

My room was in desperate need of repairs. The curtain on one side was broken. The cover for tge ceiling light in the kitchen area was about to fall off. There was a stain on my sheet. I did not sleep on the bed because it did not look clean. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Quiet place. Respectable staff

When we checked in we were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke in the room, you could literally smell it from the hallway, it was disgusting. I walked over to open the window and there was a huge pile of ashes on the windowsill. How did the cleaners not catch this?? One of the points in the 10 point inspection is “windows” so clearly they skipped that point. We asked for another room and had to wait 40 minutes with the kids crying and wanting to lay down, all of us coughing from the smoke in the room. When we got in the new room, the fridge wasn’t on so we put our food in a warm fridge and tried to call the front desk, but our phone wasn’t working. I used my cell to call them and they came and fixed the fridge but it took an hour to get cold while our ice cream melted. They said they would bring us a working phone but never did for the 3 days we were there. Lastly, I noticed our socks were getting dirty so I wiped the floor down with one of the towels and the towel was black. I have the photos. The condition of the room is very poor, and it’s unnecessary too because it’s all small little things a handyman or maintenance person could easily fix. The staff or owner must just not care. We stay at Extended Stays often and always have a great experience. This one was absolutely not up to the standard of other locations. Ghetto and trashy.

Terrible very dirty and hair was on the bed

Recently stayed here with my family, including 3 young kids. You just need to know what you're signing up for. We've stayed at a few extended stays that were fine, but this particular one did not meet standards. Room was dirty- had a stain on one of the pillowcases, towel in the bathroom had visible black shoe outline and the tub was visibly dirty with black marks and mold(could not give my kids a bath in it). Staff was friendly during check in and answered questions. States that breakfast is included, but that means hot water for tea, coffee pot and various nutri-grain granola bars at a small table. Hallways are dark and poorly lit. At times smelled of alcohol and weed. We actually didn't end up staying the 2nd night due to the conditions, especially having 3 young kids. Didn't feel comfortable letting my 7 month old crawl on the floors. Again, just need to know what you're spending your money on.

Smelled like smoke

The property is in terrible shape, and if it weren’t for the location, it would not have much occupancy. The bathroom is dated and not maintained, and the ventilation system makes it so that you can smell what everyone else is cooking.

Staff is very good. Property is very old and run down - not the staffs fault. Needs a major overhaul.

For a one night stay it was fine. I wouldn’t have wanted to be there long. Never felt unsafe, was just minor things like bathroom faucet leaking and bad shower pressure.

Overall my experience was average. My family and I stayed in a King Bedroom Suite with a pull out couch. We had to ask 3 times for bedding for the pull out couch before it was given to us. The complimentary breakfast is more of a grab and go breakfast with pre packaged food and coffee only. There’s no smoking inside the hotel, however the entrance smelled of smoke which I felt was unsafe for our 2 month old. I recommend moving the smoking areas to the back of the building or off to the far sides of the building.

Well to start, there was a dirty diaper trapped in a tree branch right outside our window, in plain view while shade was open. We needed a quick, dog friendly place for one night. We didn't need an extended stay, but this was very convenient for our route. On the outside, it was clean. On the inside, it is run down and old. Nothing is updated in the room. No usb. Not that we'd ever use it to make a call, but the phone rang. Staff called us to ask if we settled in. But we picked up receiver and the phone kept ringing. Couldn't hear anything until we went on speaker and that was a struggle. Bed and pillows old. Refrig was actually clean on the inside, but outside had what appeared to look like mold. What was most unexpected was that it appeared people are living there as opposed staying there, may be the school bus that pulled up dropping of kids that suggested that. People were getting deliveries and medication at the front desk. There didn't seem to be security cameras other than at the front desk. To be fair, I didn't venture past the front desk, but I didn't see anything off the elevator. It is very noisy. You can easily hear people above you...foot traffic and talking. All that said, the front desk crew were very nice and accommodating. We paid $140 I've said at motels nicer than this for less money. Will never stay at an Extended Stay just to avoid this type of uncomfortable atmosphere.

My shower flooded the bathroom, and there was construction going on in the room next door, when I complained I was told I was not allowed to stay at the property anymore. I did not act rude or angry I just asked to have the one night refunded as I was unable to shower and woken up early by banging in the room next door during construction.

The room was not clean, there was mold in the shower. The inside of the toilet was dirty, the microwave had food in it and so did the fridge.

Most pathetic experience check in experience. I waited for long time at check-in. There was a signed board at front desk that front desk is helping another guest. So kindly wait. After long time, I found note to call dial 0 for urgent service. I dialed 0 & AA Front desk came from his room & was sleeping , not helping anyone. I gave him my name & he could not find my reservation then I gave him confirmation # . That guy was so sleepy & not intend to check me in. I was early check in & guy told me he would charge me double. I said ok. But still making excuse for not check me in. Almost 30-45 mins he took but still no check me in. I was about 12 hrs continue driving & tired. Finally new shift front desk came. Took my ID , check me in in a mi ute & no double charge , just half extra charge for my early check in.

Love the soft bed

There are no tee pots or coffee makers in rooms despite the name "suites".
