Very nice grounds. The hotel lobby and bar are excellent. The rooms are looking very dated and need a refresh. We aren't golfers but the golf course looked amazing.

Lunches at the Amaya restaurant were a delightful experience, filled with fresh flavors and a serene atmosphere. The in-room dining for breakfast was impeccable; the attention to detail and quality made it a perfect start to our days. Dining at Addison, a 3 Michelin-star restaurant, was truly a highlight of our stay. Chef William Bradley’s artistry was evident in every dish, creating an experience that was beyond just a meal – it was an unforgettable culinary journey. Our time at the pool was equally fantastic. The poolside service was top-notch, and it made our afternoons so enjoyable. The staff across the resort were super friendly and attentive, enhancing every aspect of our stay. The amenities offered at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar are beyond words – every detail has been considered to ensure a luxurious experience. Locked out of pool before checked out most properties let you use the facilities and amenities all day....check in late and was suppose to check in early, provided connecting room when requested not to have one, did answer the phones 3 separate occasions to get ice and cannot get ice yourself, no light on the balcony so virtually unusable after sunset at 5:30 pm, only Valet parking no self parking and charges an additional $70 plus tips on top of the resort fee , access to public areas restricted due to additional tea service which cost extra in public areas. Drinks were super expensive and breakfast prices were out of control. Great property but needed landscaping update at trimming all sod need to be replaced... Not 5 star outdoor grounds areas the should have heaters and umbrellas and at sunset do not have either. Winter not a good time for the property , tea service should be in a private area not intne lobby lounge or library . I am an Accior shareholder and the does not meet 5 star resorts expectations.

The hotel was very beautiful. Had a nice walking trail. There are horses on the property. Lots of activities to do. Tennis, horseback riding, yoga, golf and much more. The rooms were overall clean but not immaculate. There was one live spider and one dead one in our room. We also had dust and spider webs.

We recently stayed 7 nights at the Grand Del Mar and had a wonderfu trip. We had an issue the first night but staff were so helpful in resolving - special thanks to Christian. Irene at the Concierge desk was amazing in bookings and recommendations. Property is stunning and facilities great - try the archery. They had a fantastic guitarist (David) who played and sung by the pool at the weekend which was very relaxing.
