This trip was our proposal weekend. I was, of course, incredibly nervous about timing everything so that I could propose before we got into our room, especially since I was planning to do it off-site and I knew once we were checked in we would spend the day enjoying the Gaylord's amenities. Fortunately for us, the front desk team were incredible co-conspirators. They helped me coordinate the day, gave us a complimentary upgrade, and sent us a free bottle of champagne and desserts. After I proposed, the team went even further above and beyond my expectations by sending up a card all of them had signed for us. That little gesture means so much to me and my fiancee. We will definitely be back.

Grounds and atrium was beautiful, enjoyed the ice, shopping, food, etc and that it was close to downtown. The whole experience was so fun to celebrate our 45th anniversary!

Went there for a Christmas staycation.
Tried to book through them directly but it was difficult and more expensive than using hotels.com.
Each night was awakened by either kids at midnight running around the courtyard with parents or families being really loud in the hallway. Was on 9th floor but they put us in a handicapped room that was not as nice as other times I’d stayed. 2nd night was woken up at 3 am by alarm going off and called front desk for help but they did nothing.
I called two more times up until 4:30 am and then tried to sleep with pillow over my head. Unfortunate thing was they never refunded what they said they would at front desk and still have to address that and I got sick with horrible bronchitis because I was breathing through the pillow and they don’t dust or clean the pillow I used.
Too crowded and si many people staying there were rude, and acting entitled and it ruined our holiday. We were so disappointed. I stayed two previous times at Texas Thespians (11k people there) and 2 yrs prior for our wedding anniversary and had a great stay. The light show in the courtyard had played all night and elevator sounds this handicapped room was terrible. I think it was rm 9337 but not sure anymore. Lack of managers and good customer service at a very busy time of year. Stay away at Christmas! Not fun! Too loud, too hectic and not real management by hotel. Not worth the money and left so tired and then sick for 3 weeks after!

Our stay at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine was just ok. The resort is beautifully designed, with a stunning atrium and top-notch amenities. One of our rooms had a partial atrium view, which you have to pay extra for partial and full atrium view. We were so far away that we could not see any of the atrium although we paid for it. The room was a small for the price but it was spotless, and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed. The resort rooms are very outdated, for the price of the rooms they are in need of renovations.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and they were located all throughout the resort so we wanted for nothing! The location is perfect, close to downtown Grapevine, the mall and the airport.
Going during the Christmas holiday is very busy! Not to mention they allow people who are not staying at the resort to come in for the day and experience the activities which makes it overcrowded! Everything at the resort is overpriced, $25 a day for self-parking, $45 a day for valet. Also, a $28 a day resort fee that they don’t tell you about until you check out. All of the Christmas activities were pretty pricey and all purchased separately. Brunch for 2 adults and 1 child was $140 which does not include a tip.
I would rate the resort a 3 and the service and employees a 5. The Gaylord is an excellent choice if you don’t mind spending a lot of money on basic outdated rooms and overpriced dining and entertainment. A return stay will not be in our future.
