We stayed one night at the Grand Adirondack Hotel. The rooms were lovely and the bed was perfect. This hotel is right in the middle of where you want to be located about in the center of Main Street. Walk either way and you have dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Although the hotel is on main st the room was surprisingly quiet. The room and hotel were very clean and the staff was great.

Perhaps it was just the busy time of year, but I wasn’t very pleased with my visit. I was charged a double security fee and no one could explain where the second charge came from. The door gave us trouble shutting and then locking. It would lock before we could get the door closed. The TV kept disconnecting and we eventually took it upon ourselves to connect the wires properly and it improved. Finally, there was at least one employee of the restaurant that lacked communication skills and reliable wait times.

The valet parking situation is poor..had to wait 45 min to get our vehicle at dinner time. Waited in line to be seated at breakfast for over 1/2 hr, finally went somewhere else for breakfast. The hotel itself is beautiful and location is perfect!!

Renovation of the hotel was sensational. Rooms narrow but very nice. Bathroom was large and shower head pressure was great. Only issue I had was lack of parking if arriving late. Overnight parking nearby but $24.00 to park for the day before night parking starts at 8pm to 8am. Valet parking available however behind the hotel and three vehicles deep if you can find an opening.

My only complaint was that the self-parking for disabled persons was a few blocks down the street. Not helpful. We ended up taking the valet option. Front desk staff were excellent and very helpful.

Be ready to unload your own vehicle and bring your own bags upstairs in the small, slow elevators. Over-priced with very underwhelming rooms. Old hotel. Loud in the hallways and a good deal of street noise. No real closets, and very limited storage space. Open more than one drawer in the undersized dresser and the whole thing wants to fall on you. This is our first time in Lake Placid and we are in season so its pricey to begin with, but the Grand Adirondack was a disappointment.
