Hampton Inn Stony Creek/Petersburg Area

The hotel has upcoming renovations. The furniture in our room on first floor were in poor condition, with holes in upholstery and scratches. The mini fridge and mini microwave. Wifi very low speed and tv without streaming. I had my firestick but it was stop and go because of low speed internet. The bathroom was ok and clean, the bed was comfy. Breakfast was acceptable. Overall was ok for one night stay on our way to FL.

So much was not working. And they had the nerve to charge $50 per dog quoted $50 for two. Their stations with hand sanitizers or poopy bags was empty. Toilet was broken, didn’t flush properly and seat was loose. Heating had two settings 80 degrees or a/c. Some bugs, No tissues in the room.

Clean room but a little dated. Water pressure was not good. Walls were paper thin could hear people next room talking on their phone. For an overnight stay okay place to stay.

The whole place was run down. Not clean. Debris behind the bed. Electrical outlets not working. Toilet seat, broken so bad you could not even even sit on it. Water on the bathroom floor, which I presume is from the toilet. This is not representative of my experience with Hampton Inn. If it continues, I’ll stop using them. On the other hand, the Hampton Inn in Walterboro, South Carolina is outstanding.

Clean and practical stoppover

When making the reservation we booked the room we did because it had a pull out couch in the picture. We had to switch rooms since The property is under construction. So it was an older room listed on Expedia. The new updated rooms are beautiful but we had no hot water for a shower. There was still painters tape on the wall. Soap from the last person in the shower, so how well was it really cleaned? A stink bug in the bedroom. The construction workers started working at 7:30am on a Saturday morning waking us very early after a long day of travel the day before. This should’ve been told to us when we checked in. They took our information for us to be contacted but I doubt we will hear anything, very disappointing stay.

No hot water and no control off the AC.

Having nothing to do with the current renovations, the drapes on one side of the window was hanging off. The bedding/bedskirt were badly wrinkled and didnt fit the bed. The carpeting felt damp and the bathroom floor was sticky. The toilet ran all night. Never again!

Breakfast was great! Checkin was confusing as paid higher on Hotels.com but when clerk stated lower rate I paid for that also. Could not cancel Hotels.com so got refunded for the lower payment. All good.

My room’s power went off after 30 mins of me settling in. Move to a different room and it was as dirty as the first I do not recommend this hotel!!!

Our remote in our room wouldn’t work.it seemed a little odd that the hotel staff said none of the TVs would change the channel. But in the morning it seemed purposeful and divisive. When my husband went down to get coffee, he was the only customer and attempted to change the lobby TV channel from Fox. He was scolded by the staff that the channel doesn’t get changed from Fox. As we left the hotel we saw the largest confederate flag right on I-95. It seemed we were in an area of intolerance and divisiveness; I did not feel safe. We got out of there as quickly as we could.

The guy who check me in has an attitude & bad customer service. The ladies are ok.

I am shocked that this was a Hilton property! It was disgusting…. If I had any other option I wouldn’t have stayed, but the only other hotel had no availability. The property was under construction, the pool wasn’t open or clean, our only window covered by a tarp, mildew in the bathroom, and stains everywhere!!!!

Accessibility to the highway was excellent. The hotel is very tired and the pool is completely unusable. Renovations were indicated but nothing seemed to be done. Very disappointed for the price.

I would to have known it was being refurbished, Ihad 3 small kids wanting to swim.

Room looked as if a half-done cleaning was done.

The TV didn't work and there were only 2 lights that worked. The entry light to the room did not work. The new clerk at the registration desk was very pleasant. She was a little nervous.but did a great job.
