This place was spectacular. The decor made you feel like you were living inside the movie Clue or maybe the house in Locke and Key. It was very clean, quiet, and just absolutely beautiful. We will be back next fall and we won’t bother looking to stay elsewhere. I would give our stay a 12 out of five stars.

Gorgeous property, amenities, history, staff was super responsive. Only gripe were that the AC units (understood house was OLD and historic) were super loud, same group monopolized billiards room from 4:00-10:00 pm and a cat urinated on our car tires overnight.

If I did not need to include the third floor room, I would give a higher rating. The facility is very charming and the first two floors are clean and well appointed. However, the third floor had very dirty/multiple stains off-white plush carpet that is dated and adds nothing. The room had no charm of the first two floors, the lighting was harsh, the AC unit loud, the furniture was simple not in cohesion with the rest of the facility, and nothing to make it inviting - stark walls, no decor. Some color would have been nice! There are sloping ceilings, so I would not recommend it for anyone over 5'8". However, the breakfast was a good, the terrace and common rooms were very charming, free on-site parking, billards room with beer on tap, and very nice toiletries in the room.

This is one of the classiest places I have ever stayed. The room was extremely comfortable and the amenities were top notch. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the billiard room, complementary beer on-tap or game room as we arrived late but we did enjoy the well appointed continental breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed at Hazeltine!! Catherine was so kind and the suite was amazing. We had lots of fun in the billiards room and exploring the town which is only a short walk away. We definitely plan to come back again :)

This is my second stay at the Hazeltine. It's a beautiful and tastefully decorated grand old mansion. I feel right at home. I stayed in the Mossy Oak room with a view of the river. Last time I was across the hall in the Glenora. When I return I'll probably pay the extra $20 dollars for the bigger bathroom of the Glenora. Both rooms are lovely. If you want, you can play billiards and pull a draught of free beer in the billiard room. There are two sitting rooms to lounge in. The compact downtown is an easy walk down the street. I recommend the Plaza, a Greek place for dinner and the Arbor for coffee and breakfast -- both a five minute or so walk. The town has some magnificent architecture of which the Hazeltine is one lovely example. Glad I found the place!

The Hazeltine is a beautiful B&B. It is a stately home that has been restored to its "gilded age" glory. This does not mean that it isn't up to date in amenities. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a first-rate accommodation. In addition, it is reasonably priced.
