Holiday Inn Express & Suites ASHLAND, an IHG Hotel

Entrance was not well marked.

Great place to stay love it. Staff super nice

Was lied to by the staff when I called and asked about the pool. Called 2 days before arrival bringing five 16 great old girls for a party so they could swim. Was told the pool was open. After check in found a sign on the door that said pool was closed for cleaning. Well upon asking the guy at the desk when it would reopen he informed me that it had been closed for a week do to the heater going out in it.

Our room was ok, but the bathroom had an odor that didn't go away and the sink didn't drain well. They were starting a remodel on the 3rd floor every day at 8am until 5pm. I believe a remodel is due for the hotel rooms. Our room could use a makeover. They offered a breakfast but we didn't eat it because we were meeting family that morning.

The toilet would only flush every 4-5 hours due to no water pressure. The knobs for the bathtub water was missing.

My husband and I booked here for an overnight trip to see friends. We visit Ashland several times a year. This is definitely one of the nicer hotels off the Purlple Heart Highway. However, this stay the hotel had some construction going on. Not a big deal, although it would have been nice if someone would have informed us instead of us hearing pounding all evening and waking up to more pounding a power tools being used. Not a pleasant experience. We left hour earlier than anticipated because rest was impossible. There was also plaster from the ceiling falling due to the construction right above our room.

The hotel seemed a little used. The room was clean but wasn’t perfect. The grounds we sparse and not really suitable for walking a service animal.

The reason for the 3-stars is the hotel is undergoing renovations, so I was awakened to the sound of a pneumatic tile remover in the room directly over mine at 8:15 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I understand hotels have to do renovations. I would hope they would not have guests stay in rooms directly beneath renovations where pneumatic tools are going to be used early in the morning. I did call the front desk who "apologized" for the noise. I understand the front desk person likely cannot do anything about the noise. I would recommend anyone planning to stay here contact the hotel to ask for a room as far away from where renovations are occurring as possible while the renovations continue. (They are renovating the 3rd floor now). I do not recommend staying on the 2nd until renovations are done.

This is a great place. So beautiful and clean. The staff was great. Breakfast was yummy. Several options to choose from. The room was very spacious.

The night clerk was friendly. The room was clean. Breakfast was fresh and well stocked.

The room had broken stuff in the bathroom and walls were flaking pant off. It was ok but definitely the worst holiday inn ive stayed at.

The front desk clerk was amazingly efficient. Best check in ever!!

Everything was what you would expect, except the pool was very cold. My kids couldn't stay in long because they were shivering. Hopefully the heater gets fixed soon.

Like: The breakfast bar was very good. Had a lot to choose from. Dislike: Lighting in bathroom was poor making it hard to shave for me and to apply makeup for my wife

We were scheduled for a two night stay , had a late night with family. Was awaken around 5:30 to a barking dog couple doors down hall it continued nonstop the housekeeping was aware of what was going on but dog continued to bark finally at 1:00 we had enough we packed up and checked out. Front desk was aware of the problem. They gave me a business card with the gm number told me to call they would do something fir me. We have family in the are and always use Holiday Inn but after that experience not so sure about next time.
