Holiday Inn Express & Suites VAN HORN, an IHG Hotel

The holiday inn express was pretty nice! It definitely could be updated as especially the bathroom is a bit outdated,but everything was comfortable. Their breakfast is pretty decent, too, which is one of the things I look for when booking for my family.

Bed was very comfortable. The room is roomy with fridge and microwave. However, in the morning, the shower wouldn’t work. The front desk gave us keys to another room to take a shower…when I got there the water pressure was so low, there was only a trickle of water out of the shower. Also, breakfast was not up to par. Sausage was burned beyond edible.

This hotel provides a comfortable stay after a long day of driving. Check in was super easy! Breakfast is great. Avoid rooms on the freeway side of the hotel if you can.

Stayed for 1 hour and left due to the conditions. Multiple dogs barking in the room next door the entire time, room was dirty, with dried rice on the comforter and pillows. Hairs in the bathroom. Such an awful experience both times we stayed. Regret booking out to and from hotels here. Won’t make that mistake again.

Good service and comfortable beds but the building itself was poorly built and is in poor condition for its age. In our room there were broken tiles, the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall, and the door was loose from its hinges. The breakfast also seems to have gone downhill from the last time I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

I initially reserved here due to the facilities being well maintained but it was the opposite. The bathroom was not that well cleaned and it seemed really old and dirty. The floor was constantly unbalanced and the refrigerator in the room was also dusty and dirty. Also there were really not a lot of parking spaces.

Clean , nice breakfast , close to restaurants, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bedding.

Parking was an issue and the room was not as clean as I would have liked. Overall still a nice stay.

The customer service at this hotel was 5 star. The front desk person was fast, when I went downstairs to get more linens, they were handed right to me, and the woman running the breakfast area was such a hard worker and so sweet. Aside from that, I slept zero hours. The hotel was packed to the gills with piles and piles of children who didn't seem to sleep. Actually, they slept from about 2am - 6am. Then they were all running in the halls and screaming starting at 6am. It was CRAYYZEE. Crazy. To their credit, I called the front desk to see if we could get another room because the people in the room next to us were blasting their television and yelling. The front desk said they would call the room. 30 seconds later, the room was silent.

This hotel appears to have been renovated recently, which was nice. The desk staff had personalities, which was even nicer. And my husband got biscuits & gravy for breakfast, which (for him) was the best.

Hair all over the bathroom and linens. Dirty bathroom. Shower did not work properly and the air conditioner wasn’t reliable. Very warm night off and on. Terrible experience.

Hotel is nice and breakfast was great. Only reason for less stars is because I reserved a suite and paid extra for it. However, they did not have one available for us and we had to squeeze 5 people in a double queen room.
