Hotel Grand Stark

Can’t say enough about the staff, they were incredible. Especially Danny. My wife recently had surgery and traveling was very difficult on her, but you can’t miss a family wedding. He helped us get checked in, took wonderful care of us, always a good morning with a smile. Restuarant and bar staff were also very kind. We’ll be back this summer, and will be back at Hotel Grand Stark.

I really wanted to love this hotel. It is very cute, but unfortunately the street noise made it almost impossible to sleep. I was also disappointed that the blanket on the bed had multiple dark stains, and the sheets has holes and more stains.

Super cute and cozy hotel and room. Only downside is noise from outside. Walls/windows are not noise canceling or sound treated at all so you hear every one talking (or losing their mind) outside as well as cars, busses, and trains. Would definitely stay again with ear plugs :)

Decent stay for the pay

I stayed in room #205 and it was so dang cute! I loved the look and layout as well as the well appointed mini bar. The staff were very personable and the place was spotless. I would absolutely stay again, especially when going to shows at Revolution Hall. Easy walk over to Wayfinder Brewery as well as Fracture and Grand Fir Brewing.

Located right dab in the middle of PDX, my favorite yoga place across the street and my favorite diner next store. The cutest, cleanest, most styled out hotel for an amazing price. Everyone who worked there was wonderful, and the bar and restaurant within the hotel are phenomenal with a great happy hour! This is my new go to hotel when I visit Portland. Thank you for everything, I literally love you Hotel Grand Stark!

Very quiet and comfy spot.

The Hotel Grand Stark is a quirky old hotel, and not without it's charm. We were surprised by a few issues along the way which made our stay a little more complicated. For their cost, I thought they were worth mentioning. If these particular items that were issues for us our your thing, then this place is for you, but at least you'll know going in. Valet parking is $55/night and it has operating hours. So, if like us, you get back after 11 PM one night, know that it's closed and you'll be parking your car on the street. There are a fair amount of homeless people, so be OK with that if it's going to be an issue for you. Same thing with the morning, if you're going to need your car before 6 or 7 AM (I forget what they said, but it affected us), you'll need to self street park or you can't get your car until a valet arrives for work. As far as the room, it's an old building, so the floors aren't level. For our room, it was easy to find the bathroom, just walk downhill. Not much of an issue except the floor was not what I would call finished, so you might pick up a splinter or two on the way. The bathroom door was a pocket door and once it got halfway closed it rolled downhill and shut itself. In one case my wife was in the bathroom, when it closed with force, the latch also closed! When she called me to rescue her, neither of us had the strength to open it, so I had to take the latch assembly apart so she could get out. Imagine if she had no phone/ no one could hear

Property will charge you days before you check in and then add additional fees that you have to pay on site once you check in. Would not stay again.

Close to concert venue. Easy walking. Nice room.

Friendly staff easy check in. Staff Goes out of there way to open and Close door every time I visit. The Rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable bed and good quality bedding . For the value this is an excellent hotel and will definitely return .

Great place!

This was for my son. He wanted to check in early. Was charged $100. I paid about $100 for one night. I thought it is too much. I know he had a choice not to check in early.

What a beautiful gem. Continently located for a night at 45east show or the Den. Great staff and hospitality.

The restaurant,bar and entire staff did everything to make sure that we had an exceptional experience

This is a very stylish, comfortable property. I would definitely stay here, but you should know ahead of time that it's not in the best neighborhood. It's not awful or dangerous, but it's kind of a light industrial area, and there's a homeless shelter right across the street from the hotel. There are also yoga studios and cafes nearby but it's definitely not the heart of the city.

Great location, room and hotel looked brand new even though the staff told me it was redone in 2022. Staff was exceptionally nice as well.

Across the street from a help center for homeless. At night it is loud, avoid rooms facing the street. Valet personnel disappear for a while, I had to go across the street to the parking garage to get my own car.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. The location was accessible to everything we wanted to see and the room was spacious and clean. We hope to return next time we are in Portland!
