Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle, an IHG Hotel

I have traveled the world. I'm not unreasonable. But the working generation i have had the pleasure of interacting with have such bad attitudes. Hotel Monaco excluded.

The staffs there are friendly. Location is convenient, close to the pier. There are two problems I met. First is the AC cannot heat up more than 22.5 degree, which made the room kinda cold during the night time. Second is the room lock, which might be out of battery or sth, cannot only the room at the first attempt.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle, booked via Hotels.com, 1 night 1 Jan 2025. Overall, I had a great experience staying at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle. First, I want to express my frustration with the first interaction I had with the check-in staff. My room was not ready because I was coming in early from a cross-country train, I understood that the hotel was booked and no room was ready, but the staff delivery could have been pleasant he was not friendly and boarding condescending. After the initial conversation, everyone else I encountered was helpful and took pride in the service they provided. Now the hotel, the lobby was warm and inviting, with plenty of seating while waiting for my room. The room was clean, roomie. The bathroom was sufficient and clean. The location was near the waterfront, which is centrally located to a lot of the attractions.

Hotel was very nice, the staff was great. Breakfast was great. It would have been nice if restaurant and bar was open later than 9pm .

The views are terrible: can’t see anything with a building facing you and dirty windows!

Great hotel, clean, comfortable beds. Quiet. The only thing about checkin. I sm an IHG member, they said they would call and check me in early, by 1:00. Called @ 5:00 to say room was ready. Really??!! Hotel had a bar and restaurant. This is where the hotel could improve on. 1st of all, the bar/restaurant closed on a Saturday evening @ 9:00. Kind of dissapointing when you are there celebrating the holidays with friends and then, its we're closing time to leave. Breakfast the next morning. There were 10 of us. We could not seat together unless we wanted to all be on one bill with a 20% gratuity. Wasnt going to do that. The servers were already not friendly. So as we decided to all sit seperate, was hoping to still sit close. Nope, set us all as far away from each other as possible. Yes, the restaurant was empty. Food took at least 30 min, came out cold and the sausage was burnt to s crisp. Cannot believe they served it. See pic of before and remade. Very dissappointed.
