Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bushnell

Got to the hotel and the staff was friendly but when we got upstairs we could not get into our room and had to ask a member of housecleaning to let us in. They showed us the door handle was broken and only worked if you turned it up instead of down which isn’t the end of the world but would have been nice to be told upfront and not feel stupid asking for help later. The room itself was a standard room and if it wasn’t for the fact the bathroom had an extremely strong odor of cat urine I would have given a higher review. Luckily we were leaving after a quick change to go to a wedding so we sprayed lots of perfume and opened a window. By the time we got back it was still slightly noticeable but bearable. The last little inconvenience was only have 3 small pillows per bed instead of the standard 4 as we had four adults staying in the room and people were uncomfortable for sure. Overall the staff was great and for the price it’s not a bad deal as I do not believe the issues we encountered would be common for most.

First room very small and dirty so changed to suite. It was bigger but still very dirty. From outside motel looked nice but inside was different story. Carpet filthy and torn. Had to wash bottom of shoes when we went to next motel.We did not want to touch anything and it was pricey for condition.

Very noisy even late at night, slamming of doors partying on the hallway. Partying in back of the hotel where our room happened to be located.

It was pretty good for one night. It’s a little dated so old carpet and the floor unit AC but the Front Desk was very nice and the breakfast was your basic cold breakfast and muffins type but it was nice for the one night we needed it.

The carpets were sticky and had a weird smell.

The rooms smelled like mildew, the elevator didn’t work, had to walk up & down 3 flights of stairs that hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Breakfast was absolutely pitiful ( not even enough to call it breakfast) and they didn’t have any plates on the morning of day two. We stayed here a year ago and it was all good, place has really good downhill since then.

This hotel was a good value for the price. Great location right off of I-75, good parking and helpful staff. We heard little traffic noise. On the downside, the in-room coffeemaker did not work (why bother staff when there was coffee in the lobby) and muffled coughs, sneezes and talking next door were heard but things quieted down by evening and we slept well. The bathroom was inadequate and whoever designed the remodel should be out of a job. This should be the most well-lit room but had only soft fluorescent lighting that surrounded a large mirror. It was significantly inadequate for applying makeup, contacts, shaving, etc. There was no hall entry light or light over the tub to help compensate for this. The vanity was tiny, with 5" sides, barely enough for a toothbrush and paste. Eyeglasses would fall to the floor or in the sink unless folded, as would a hand towel. A 2-shelf unit mounted near the shower and over the TP holder also had 3 hooks (painted in primary colors) to hold towels. It looked as tho it was designed for a child's play room, which would be ok if they served their purpose well however the shelves were tiny and each held little more than a small cosmetic bag. At least there were 2 shelves. Larger towels on the hooks covered the TP and slipped off hooks. The toilet tank was the only place to set anything and they also are not very large these days.

Very nice small hotel, very clean, everything worked right, staff friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that it was very loud in the room. You can hear every conversation and TV in rooms next door, and hear all road noise from outside.
