The Box House Hotel

Excellent hotel, so clean and cool decorating. Great location. We stay here every time we visit my sister and every stay has been awesome.

I have no complaints about the hotel. If I came back to Brooklyn, I wouldn’t stay in this Greenpoint neighborhood; I’d stay someplace more central or closer to attractions

We enjoyed the large room at the Box House Hotel, and it’s a good place to stay at to enjoy Greenpoint. We had breakfast included with the room, and the spread was delicious. However, the room came with very little amenities in the bathroom. The room was not serviced for our second day. The bathroom was far away from the rooms and very small. Wish they provided bath robes at the minimum. Overall the room was comfortable but the service could be much better.

In the city that doesn’t sleep- this area snores. I’ve stayed at about every hotel in North Brooklyn. Although this hotel looks really cool, there were unexpected expenses and inconveniences. It’s located in a desolate part of Greenpoint BK. It’s a 10+ minute walk to the G train, which itself doesn’t go into the city. You have to transfer to another 1-2 train(s) (depending on direction) to go into Manhattan. There’s no nightlife or restaurants other than their own. The closest bodega closes early. Usually when you book on this site, all expenses are paid. The hotel hit me with a “destination fee”- They had already charged my card and needed me to sign when I came to the lobby hours after checkin. This means that I could not opt out of the fee by deciding not to stay on account of them charging extra. Sneaky. Their own restaurant had a little over 5 items for dinner. I ended up having to order out because nothing suited my diet and I didn’t want to pay 16$ for the salad on the menu. I asked for a late check out because the room’s alarm clock went off at 6am and I couldn’t fall back asleep. They charge 25$ for every hour you wish to stay past 11am. Before I asked for late check out, I had considered staying another night. When I asked for late check out, she said they couldn’t do it because they had no vacancy that Sunday night. Not true, I let her know. I tried to go back to sleep but housekeeping knocked around 8:30. Cool art. Unplug the alarm.

Beautiful and clean, but couldn’t get hot water. Had to take a cool shower.

We stayed at the Box Hotel for 2 nights over Christmas. The room was spotless and charming—this is no cookie-cutter establishment! Breakfast was delish. Good coffee too.

If you have never stayed at the hidden gem, you a doing yourself a disservice. Ths place is awesome. Wife and I stayed overnight and was blown away. Definitely on my top 5 list of places to stay in NY

Great experience with checking in and out. This was my second time staying at this property. The young lady that checked us in was exceptional. The hotel is cozy, comfortable sleep however the water pressure was low, the water did not get hot during shower and hair was on the shower walls.

Great atmosphere

Second time here. A unique place! We greatly appreciated David, the helpful and friendly bartender. The front desk staff and bell man were kind and accommodating. Bed was ok but not the most comfortable. The hotel is showing some wear... but it is still a nice place to stay if you want to be close but not IN the city. You can walk to subway, coffee shops, and restaurants.

Heating system did not seem to keep room warm. But other than that, room and space and decor was immaculate.

Loved the room decorations, entry hall was very festive for the holiday, and the train wasnt too far either. Pretty quiet area.

Was good except for the bed. Too soft, I know some would love it. Had neck pain every morning. Also not super friendly staff.

Highly highly recommend recommending the state to anybody that wants to go to New York City. It was the perfect facility, with the friendliest staff and the best overall environment, no complaints at all. I included pictures of the beautiful dining room, which had one of the best included breakfast I've ever enjoyed and the most pleasant environment you could imagine.

2nd time here, love it !
