The Darling Hotel

It’s an amazing place to stay if you are in Visalia.

Exactly what it says this hotel is darling very art deco Very clean great location walking distance to restaurants bars, bakery coffee shops breweries It was the old courthouse they did an amazing job turning it into a hotel with rooftop restaurant and there is also a bar very safe gated parking with pool

Elegant and respectful staff.

Room near the street was loud, but I’m sure another would have been fine. Some loud noises from the old plumbing. Beds were comfy and restaurant was outstanding. Staff were kind and professional.

Clean property and rooms, comfortable, and the staff is excellent. Very friendly and professional. Would recommend!

Unique 1930s building restored to be a nice hotel

Decorated amazingly for Christmas. Beds are so comfy.

Great welcome to an interesting building. Unfortunately sleep wasn’t great with thin windows and cheap pillows. Beautiful rooms otherwise.

We stayed for 3 nights while celebrating my birthday. Pros: Great interior design. Lots of great gold and art deco/geometric touches all throughout the property. Nice high ceilings. Just about an 1.5hr drive from Sequioa and Kings Canyon Natl Parks. Cons: A confusing mishap was handled poorly by manager Jessica and a handful of the customer service staff. We were told by multiple staff members that a dining discount would apply to our dinner bill and Jessica was kind enough to explain that the staff advised me incorrectly. A better show of goodwill would’ve been to issue to discount anyway for our trouble. The mattress was a bit hard for our comfort and the sheets while clean-smelling were stained with what may have been a previous coffee/wine spill. We didn’t make a big deal of it and was generally satisfied with the room’s function. My status with Expedia allowed access to a complimentary room upgrade however this was not available at the time of check-in. The desk staff advised that we’d instead receive free self parking and free late checkout (12pm vs. 11am checkout). Free parking was already a feature I had access to via my Expedia status. This may have been a missed opportunity to go far and beyond expectations, perhaps by offering a dinner discount or some other show of value and goodwill. Similar properties may make note of the day of the birthday and leave a small treat in the room - for example. All in all it was a great trip and we enjoyed it.

It's an awesome place. Can't wait to go back.

Easy access and cleanness

It was nice cause It wasn't planned and everything run smooth on the reservation the same day! The room was nice and the bed really comfortable The team really professional helped with all the questions 😁

Interesting property with a lot of charm and history. Very different from a sterile chain hotel. Room was clean and comfortable with some nice amenities in terms of snacks and beverages. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. I would recommend this place to others and would definitely stay here again.

Very modern and trendy.

We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but we enjoyed the bar for a drink. The high ceilings made the rooms seem very spacious

Room could have quieter,the use of the elevators very hard going to 3 and 3 elevators. We know it’s an old build, the Pepe eete all excellent

My husband and I spent a night here. Every single person was so nice from the minute we walked in! Spent time upstairs at the bar before a show a few blocks away. Both dinner and breakfast were superb! And the signature cocktails! Excellent!

Gorgeous property. Beautiful huge comfortable room. Absolutely loved it. The restaurant was delicious. The hotel is not in an area where i would have been walking around at night, so I was glad the restaurant was onsite. There was very loud drag racing happening at 2am which was unfortunate but had a great stay overall.
