Great rooms, new and clean. Nice area to pull into to drop off bags.
Room service on the other hand was terrible. The food was terribly cooked and unimpressive for a 5 star hotel. The service aspect of it was great though. Too many great restaurants in Portland to bother with the in room dining.

A beautiful property with lovely rooms and a great pool and jacuzzi with city views. Service slip-ups still prevent it from giving the impression of a true five star hotel.
The most notable came the morning we were checking out: I wanted to sleep in and my boyfriend wanted to visit the city early in the morning, and he wouldn’t be back by check out time. He went to drop off his bags with the bell desk first so that I wouldn’t have to take them down when I checked out. Bizarrely, they told him they couldn’t hold his bags until checkout, either because of policy or because the bellman wasn’t on duty yet. That’s an excuse that works fine at a four star hotel; but at a five star property, the staff would be more embarrassed at the thought of a guest having to trundle back upstairs with their bags after being turned away at the front desk. He also noted they didn’t seem sure he was a guest at first: indeed, none of the staff we interacted with after check-in addressed us by name or recognized us. Again, fine for a four star hotel, but illustrates what is lacking here in Portland’s first attempt at a five star property.

I had a disappointing experience during my recent stay. I was charged for a no-show for one night, despite having checked in. The front desk staff printed a receipt with the charge but did not provide any explanation regarding it. I didn't check at that time, only to be found out about this charge later when I came back home. When I called to address the issue and requested the charge be removed, I was promised a confirmation that never arrived. As a result, I had to dispute the charge through my credit card company. This experience reflects poorly on their customer service, and I hope they can improve their communication and resolution processes in the future.
