Shortly after 1:00 am, I was awakened by a loud HVAC related sound, not part of my room's air conditioning system, with a scraping sound that intermittently rang out alongside the HVAC noise. This continued for the next 3 hours and I am NOT a light sleeper but I could not fall back asleep. I called the front desk and complained and the response was they would "send security" to my room to investigate. I told them it obviously was a maintenance issue and to please stop the sound. Nothing was done. I called 5 additional times: 3 at 2:30 am and at least twice more at 4:30 am when I got up to shower. No response from the front desk. When I confronted the front desk clerk he said they were having trouble with their phones. Needless to say, when you rent a hotel room, the minimum expectation is to have a peaceful night's sleep. There is obviously something wrong with the HVAC system for that room (at the end of a wing - #231) and I imagine others have complained about it but nothing done.

The area around the hotel is in downtown Visalia. It is a bit older than the rest of the town. It’s also near a hospital so factor that in your stay. Unfortunately, I saw a lot of homeless people around the hotel and all throughout Visalia. Most of the places we went to eat, shop, etc were on the other side of town. The hotel has had an upgrade but it was inconsistent- the door to the rooms were painted over and looked bad - the rooms were ok and good for a short stay. Pretty quiet and would stay there again. Easy access to the freeway and routes to the national parks

Unfortunately, it was hard to fall asleep due to the folks across the hall opening and closing their door all night. It sounded like it was someone in our room. Sound proofing needs to be worked on! Worst experience ever!

A nice hotel and the staff is helpful and great.
The bedding is great and I like their mattress. I have a good sleep during my stay! This is the best mattress compared to the hotels I have ever stayed in. The bathroom design needs to improve a bit. When you close the bathroom door, the door is too close to the toilet, within 1 inch. And you have to stand aside which is a bit annoying.
A few homeless people lie on the grass (roadside) next to the parking lot. I know the hotel cannot do anything about this, but it worried me. And I have to find a parking spot away from the roadside. The parking area close to the convention center is pretty dark at night and makes me feel unsafe.

There is no electric charges for cars and the place that we were recommended next door charge $55 for an hour. This is unacceptable to offer some sort of discount or anything for the inconvenience and cost of the convention center chargers. I was extremely disappointed.

I loved this hotel. Had everything I wanted. Walkable to all of downtown Visalia. Many restaurants and shops to choose from. I absolutely loved it. I use gym it was nice. Hotel had a nice breakfast to chose from. Close to College of Sequoias. They have live music. I didn’t go, but that’s a great feature. I recommend this hotel

Why even have staff? Was completely ignored until practically yelling at them. Really, we used our social skills. Too bad your staff have none.
Even when I did get their precious time, they gave attitude and couldn’t/wouldn’t answer my simple questions. Thought I was paying for some kind of service here but just wasted my money.
