Bonjour D'An Nam Hotel

We arrived around 2 pm. There was no one in the hotel. All the doors of the hotel rooms were open with the keys in the doors. We called the phone number at the reception. A short time later a guy who I feel sorry for turned up on a motorcycle. He gave us our room number. Getting to the room is a whole other story. 5 floors up. In the room there was no TV. The AC did not work. There was an obscured window in the room. When I went downstairs to the reception the guy said you want a TV? That 's what we paid for, I replied! So I went back up the stairs and got a TV from 1 room, a remote from another and batteries for both the TV and AC from another room. Still didn't see anyone else. As for the bed my wife got covered in bed bug bites down her side which ended up getting infected from the bedding. The bites are only healing now. The fiberglass shower base was broken in the middle. Broken right through to the floor. We had to stand on the edge of the shower base to shower. Being careful not to cut our legs on the broken fiberglass. There was no drinking water, coffee or tea provided. But there was a kettle. When asked at reception about drinking water coffee etc advised not included. So off we went to buy some. The hotel is located in a great location. As we were only staying 1 night my wife and I treated it as an adventure. We live in Hoian. We have travelled all over Vietnam for many years. This hotel is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in in the world. I'm 70. If the room rate was cheaper it would suit a skinny backpacker who would not fall through the crack in the shower base and is not allergic to bed bugs! The hotel is nothing like the ad photos. We didn't take photos as we didn't want the guy at reception to lose his job for something completely out of his control.

The receptionist guy has problems and he is very rude he don't care for nothing also the shower was in very bad condition and no window in room.

Central place for new experience.

The accommodation is awesome with their friendly receptionist. But kinda sad cause unable to try their family suite which was already booked initially. They then change a deluxe and twin bedroom for us. Overall, still ok.

Staff great. Stay here all the time.

Worth every cent I pay for this hotel, in the heart of street food gourmet, free WiFi and pretty strong, can refill drinking water at lobby, definitely will stay in this hotel if I visit Hanoi again.

I booked a deluxe room and there was no heat . It was so cold that I felt dizzy and the staff just told me to put on more blanket . Wifi does not work and I had to buy additional 3G to accommodate my work
