All the staff were incredibly kind and provided wonderful service. The hotel room was as described, nice and clean. Breakfast was great, too. And the location is perfect, a short walk to the lake and to Old Quarter. We really enjoyed our stay. We came from the UK

The staff is excellent, very attentive and helpful. The property is small, clean and quite good but lacks in small details as it is an old building in the old quarter and hard to make functional in a modern sense.
I recommend it for friendly staff, cleanliness and location.

Pros:
Located in “old town” a few doors down from the famous church.
Close to food and shopping
Close to other POI - Prison, Lake, church.
Staff were amazing! Thomas the (Manager?) was very accommodating and helpful, made us feel like VIP.
The room we booked was internal window, king size bed. Average size room for city hotel. I thought an internal window would mean looking out into an atrium type set up… it wasn’t. It was a skinny tall window that let you view a sky light. As we were hardly in our room we did not mind. But in the future, I’d post a bit more to have a view to the outside world.
The bed was sooo comfy and the pillows were “dreamy”.
The breakfast selection was good - on par with other hotels we stayed at.
Swimming pool was smallish. Did have a gym but we did not use.
Outside the hotel they have a convenient table and chairs where you can sit and have a drink and watch people go about their business.
I would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.

Excellent service, very nice and helpful staff, everything was always super clean. A small thing I liked that made a big difference for me was that any staff removed their shoes before entering a guest’s room. I found it to be so thoughtful and respectful. Beautiful decor in hotel too, it’s very classic 1930s style. I will be returning here the next time I come to Hà Nội.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of our honeymoon and we both agreed it was the best accommodation of our month long trip in Vietnam because the staff were so attentive, they really went over and beyond for all the guests and made us feel so comfortable and welcome. The breakfast was excellent and everything felt clean and luxurious. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Hanoi as it is also in a perfect location and the rooftop pool and bar is a great escape if you just want a chilled day.

Grand du Lac Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Hanoi. The staff at the property are so lovely; from the moment we stepped in to the hotel we were greeted kindly and warmly. All the staff new our names and made sure we had the best experiences possible. They were all so catering and magnificent. The free breakfast was also great, with the assortment of fruits, western and eastern dishes. Would come here again!

First of all, excellent service. They thought of everything before you even asked - bought show ticket for me because they knew the line is long, reminded me to get ready for Ha Long Bay pickup, arranged transportation, offered shower before midnight flight, how to eat local food, currency exchange, etc. Tips and advice on everything. This made my short 3 day-2 night stay so easy and efficient. Staff always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is great too, food, decor and ambience. I ate breakfast and two dinners there.
