Varoš, once a settlement built by the local farmhands and fishermen and now the city’s tourist hub with numerous konobas (taverns), restaurants, cafés, art galleries and small stores, it is a neighbourhood at the heart of Split where history and tradition are fused together to create an authentic atmosphere at every step. A labyrinth of pedestrian streets winding around several historic churches gradually ascends towards Marjan park-forest, a protected nature reserve dubbed "the lungs of the city" by the locals. Step outside, explore the narrow streets lined with traditional stone houses, and allow yourself to adopt the typically local laid-back lifestyle which Split is renowned for. There is hardly a more pleasant ambiance in which to wander and get lost.

Clean and fine

+ only 10 minutes walk to the old town (you can also have a good breakfast there for little money) + still quiet location + Room safe, air conditioning, minibar + change of towels every other day + Breakfast is available at the hotel, about a 2-minute walk away (either with a voucher or for about €20) + Ana is a very nice and helpful young woman at the reception in the breakfast room who is there as soon as you "cough"; very big praise! - the breakfast room is very crowded and there is hardly any space to get to the coffee machine without disturbing other guests. - Unfortunately, the breakfast in the hotel was exactly the same every day for 7 days (the offer advertised a buffet) - no room cleaning - The room is approximately 13 square meters in size and has 2 small windows. - The mattress is 1.60 m wide and has a cheap metal frame that wobbles with every movement. - The Ikea wardrobe is approx. 1 m wide and contains 8 thin plastic hangers that were bent after 2 days (jeans were hung on them). - Bathroom door could neither be opened properly nor closed completely (!) Conclusion: The only “luxury” about this accommodation is the price!

I contacted Lidija late in the afternoon, and I was able to rent the room the same night at a great rate in late April 2019. She was very pleasant and helpful. She gave me parking information and included maps of Split in the kitchen. The kitchen is shared with another room. This was not a problem for me. The room has wifi, tv (didn't use it), air conditioning/heating, and ample closet space. The bathroom is very nice with a shower and ample hot water. I called Lidija in the afternoon and I rented the room the same day for a good price in April 2019. She was pleasant and informative. She gave me information for parking overnight and in the kitchen there are maps of the city of Split. The kitchen is shared with another room. That was not a problem for me. Your room has WiFi, television (I didn't use it), air conditioning/heating, and a wardrobe. The toilet is tidy with a shower cabin and plenty of hot water. Thank You Lidija / Hvala vam Lidija.

Excellent location just outside the center. 5 min walk. Somewhat difficult to find. Clean, new bathroom and shared kitchen and garden (2 rooms). Contact via WhatsApp is great! Good WiFi.
