A lovely hotel - we had a really nice stay here. The view from the rooftop whilst having breakfast was spectacular. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Hotel is right in the heart of stone town.

Hotel itself was not bad, but has the worst staff ever. When we arrived they had completely ignored the "twin beds" request on the booking, and had no other choice than giving us an upgraded room. Problems came later. We arrived by car and needed somewhere to park. The hotel has no parking, but the lady on the reception desk told us we could park around the old fort, so we did. The next morning, someone deliberately has deflated the 2 front wheels to avoid us driving it. So we came back to the hotel and asked to call the police. Incredibly, nobody knew the number of the police, nobody wanted to help, and all seemed quite funny with the situation and continuously were laughing at us.

The hotel is unique with old style architectural detail consistent with Stone Town. The lobby and public areas are well decorated with vintage furnishing and pictures/art. Our room was excellent a real retreat. The staff was very helpful with reservations and directions. Would recommend for visiting Zanzibar.

While the rustic and rugged look has its own antique charm. The 'Hotel' is poorly managed. No internet. Breakfast is not served on time and is of poor quality. The place is overpriced.
