It was not a bad stay; the rooms were dark and musty, but it feels like that is the vibe the hotel is going for... All would have been lost if not for the service, it was fantastic.

Nice hotel

Really nice hotel. Modern feel and staff helpful and friendly. Parking slightly confusing at first as is a public car park and no signs for the hotel to suggest you can park there. Room fridges are only room temp so if you want anything cold you can’t from the fridges. Location was far away from anything without travelling in relation to food and activities but overall the hotel is a nice place

I loved this stylish and friendly hotel in a great part of Canberra. The staff are very friendly and the room we stayed in was superb, particularly the bathroom. The breakfast is wonderful, not a buffet, but a proper cafe breakfast with a great choice, made to order. The only reasons not to give highest rating for everything were:1) a loose fitting in the bathroom and the soap being stuck to the wall too far from the bath to reach. 2) service was a little slow at breakfast. ( only two people so understandable and by no means not good, it’s just if I were to rate as excellent there’d have to be no wait and also no forgetting one drink. Otherwise a really great stay in a very cool and well appointed room. Also love the complimentary tote bag!

Horrible man at reception

We were supposed to have a complimentary drink on arrival. None was provided and we couldn’t be bothered asking. Tried to offer $40 parking overnight we found off street parking instead. Our room was facing the highway and was noisy, windows are thin as we were woken by neighbours as they came back late and talked loudly for over an hour. There was dirty dishes and leftover hot food in corridors the whole time of our stay, it was pretty gross (hot chips and other leftover containers left overnight). We won’t be staying again.

Rooms are too small, smaller than cruise cabin;)

The hallway is too dark. The room size is great for 2 adults and a teenage. But parking is not easy at all.

The aircon and ventilation didn’t work well. Had to change the room. I wouldn’t stay there again

Lovely hotel Staff were friendly and attentive however the room wasn’t prepared with the correct bedding or towels. This was quickly rectified. The hotel has a dark mood which completely suits its style

Lovely hotel with great bar/restuarant. Rooms could be quieter as road very close. Easy access to city and parking.

Staff were very attentive

While the dim lighting was obviously intended to create a particular atmosphere, it did make navigation and access awkward. Once in the room, found casting to tv didnt work (no sound) and reception for normal channels patchy. One teabag per person was also a little disappointing. Left the hotel for a run in the morning and was back hours before check out time only to find room / access keys deactivated. Location made for easy walk into city but access by car not straightforward due to road closures for light rail construction-which wasn't mentioned on any check-in or booking sites. Overall, was ok but didn't love it.

small but luxurious, love it

Not quite what I’m used too as in room ambience very dark moody hotel. Service is wonderful we complained about our room being noisy and they were quick to change us to an atrium room which feels very dungeon like but we slept well.such a shame as the view of the lake was amazing in other room but right on busy highway. I did ask to be away from highway in my check in notes, but alas not heard. Had a few issues with our tv but they came and fixed it and brought us lattes for our trouble. I have never been to a hotel where they actually follow through with your complaints and try very hard to fix. Even a quirky card and bottle of champagne in our room to say sorry for all the troubles we were having. Free candy at check in was quirky and was great to munch on for dessert. Didn’t try the vegetarian restaurant for dinner but had guacamole at the bar which was amazing. All in all I think most people would enjoy this hotel but it’s not for me I do prefer rooms with a view that are not noisy.

This was a return trip & it was disappointing. The usual Ovolo experience wasn’t there. Check-in was very lacklustre with no information & just passed a key. Not even instructions on which side of the hotel our rooms were on so we knew which elevator to go to. Breakfast has gone down hill in quality and choice, and the room smelt musty & mouldy. A big drop in standard since our last visit. We won’t book there again.
