Klungkung

Klungkung is the smallest district in Bali bordering with Gianyar at the West and Indian Ocean at the South. Within this area, there is a territory named Semarapura which is the district government focus as well as the place where dance, kerawitan, carving, sculpture, architecture, wayang and religious ceremonies were born. As the center of Klungkung Palace – now renowned as Puri Agung Semarapura – there are plenty of historical sites that attracts tourists’ attention. One of it is Bale Kambang, a place where you can find its 3 different kinds of story in the ceiling painted in Klungkung style. Also, Puputan Monument renowned as the symbol to honor Klungkung’s warrior against the Dutch who tried to invade Klungkung Kingdom. Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan is also part of Klungkung District. This is the island where people consider it as the Indonesian Maldive which is why it has a lot of tourists. Clear water, white sand, plenty of exciting underwater activities, also the stunning views of the sea became one of the reason why this place has turned into a famous destination.
