Arechi Castle This castle is positioned on top of a mountain at the foot of Salerno city. In the past, Arechi Castle was necessary for the military in the 18th century. Currently, the castle consists of a central section protected by towers joined with crenellated walls. After the unification of Italy and a long period of neglect, the Province of Salerno became the castle owner in 1960 and began the restoration work. Spaghetti alla Nerano Spaghetti alla Nerano is a traditional Italian pasta dish from Nerano. It is also widely known as spaghetti with zucchini. The ingredients of spaghetti alla Nerano consist of spaghetti, Provolone del Monaco cheese, zucchini, basil, olive oil, garlic, butter, and salt. The zucchinis are sliced thin, fried in oil, and then drained. The spaghetti is cooked until al dente, and the garlic is sauteed in olive oil.
