After reading several reviews I was very nervous about our stay here. It was included as part of our Intrepid Antarctica trip - so I figured for a free night it couldn't be bad. I will say this is a 3* hotel at best - most definitely nothing 4* about it. We found reception to be very friendly and welcoming! Also the decor was kind of "cozy cabin" - again not upscale like you'd expect at a 4* resort. The beds were comfortable enough, but the furniture and bathrooms were definitely dated. As mentioned, there is no AC. This isn't uncommon if you're well traveled. It's not just this resort - but all of them here don't have AC. So you'll have to crack a window to cool your room. Inconvenient, yes - but it's like 40°F outside, why do you need AC? I've been to much hotter countries that don't have AC. So just be prepared for this. The restaurant was a joke. The menu was only 8 items and never changed for lunch or dinner. The price was also extremely expensive compared to what you pay in town. The continental breakfast wasn't bad. It had a decent variety of items but more of a low scale budget hotel style, nowhere near 4* level. It had hard boiled eggs, instant scrambled eggs, home fries (from frozen), some fruit, kind of stale breads and some juices, coffee and tea. The views are beautiful! But it is a 15 minute car ride to the center of town, and there is nothing else up here. Had we not already started downtown and explored for several days before relocating to this hotel I'd have been more disappointed by it's location. It does not offer any shuttle service too and from town. Overall, for a free night included in my trip I'm happy with my stay. However, I would not pay to stay here due to far cheaper, better located, and nicer options in town!

We were booked in here by the airline when our flight was canceled and we were not able to rebook so we stayed here for two nights. It is far out of the town and not walkable, but we had already spent a few days in the town so that was OK with us. The views are spectacular. I cannot say enough about how kind and helpful all the people who work here are. They answered all our questions and were just overall very kind.

We were situated in a room facing the port which had an amazing view….until we tried to sleep. The room/hotel was very hot so we opened our window as the rooms weren’t air conditioned only to hear the local dog next door bark continuously through the night and cars coming and going as they dropped of guests. We tried to close the blinds as the lights from the front of the hotel and incoming cars lit up our room but the blinds only close halfway meaning we either had a lit up room or a hot room as we couldn’t close the other half of the blinds due to the way the window opened. We had a room with an adjoining door and were also kept up by our neighbours and being able to hear everything right down the slightest fart. Our room also had pipes running through the wall in the bathroom to service other levels meaning every time someone above us flushed the toilet, turned on the shower or poured something down the drain it sounded like it was coming from our own bathroom The food here is horrible, so much so that we got taxi’s into town for food each day/night

Great views. But that’s it. Everything is very dated. Wifi does not work or is slow. Lunch menu - 4 different items were ordered. All items rank amongst the worst food we’ve ever ordered. Rooms are stuffy. Pillows stained. Horrid

I recently stayed at this hotel in Ushuaia for one night with a group that had just finished a cruise. The hotel is up on a hill overlooking town and has a beautiful view, but as a result, is not within walking distance of town or much of anything else. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing, especially considering the 4-star rating and high prices. The hotel is older and showing its age. The issues started in the room, which was uncomfortably hot. We turned off the heater and reported it to the front desk, who assured us they would handle it, but the room remained stifling all night. The front desk staff seemed uninformed; any question we asked received a simple, "we don't know," which left us feeling neglected rather than supported. Dinner was another letdown. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm, but we weren’t seated until 8 pm, and we weren't given menus. Everyone was served the same meal without options: a small salad with rolls, overcooked risotto, and a scoop of ice cream. The service was extremely slow, and it took two hours to finish the meal, which was not what we expected from a so-called 4-star experience. Overall, this hotel felt like a 2-star property charging 4-star prices with a restaurant that barely deserved 1-star. I cannot recommend it and hope they make improvements for future guests.
