We were on the salzrach river across from old town Salzburg. The hotel was luxurious, the staff professional and helpful, and the room was quiet and spacious. We were never farther than a 10-15 minute walk from the places we wanted to go.

The hotel is in a perfect location along the river and directly across from the main entrance to the old city. Everything is walkable from the hotel. The rooftop bar/restaurant is very nice.

One of the most pleasant hotel experiences I've had in a while. There's two parking spots directly in front of the hotel to park while checking in. The host gave us clear direction for where to park after checking in, and he was so funny and so kind. We really enjoyed our check in conversation he was a joy to meet. The room was very clean and the view over the river was beautiful. The restaurant and roof top bar is the best place to enjoy a drink or meal. Highly recommend!

the parking situation with a far, far away public lot is very poor. room is smallish - certainly for the high price. staff was polite - not necessarily friendly. the value for money is horrendously poor. worst value in my 40 years of travel

Visited Salzburg for the first time in December. The hotel is in an ideal location to walk around and see the sites. The hotel is older but maintained well. The room was a bit small, but considered normal by European standards. We had medium suitcases to maneuver around. The brunch was very good!

The Hotel Stein exceeded my expectations. Great location, beautiful room and large bathroom, and an incredible staff! The rooftop restaurant and bar are excellent with an incredible view and a super attentive staff. Harry, Julian, Sam and all the others helped make my four-night stay extra special. I felt like I was parting with friends when I left.

Excellent hotel! The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The room was by far the best we enjoyed on our 22 day journey across Europe. The room was spacious, the AC made the room very comfortable and the shower was outstanding. This was our first stay at Hotel Stein but definitely won’t be the last. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Salzburg.

My son and I enjoyed the customer service of this hotel, it exceeded our expectations. the staff was very friendly and professional. The location of this hotel was superb! We were at walking distance of every main attraction, such Mirabel Palace, Mozart's birthplace, The cathedral, a regular supermarket, bakeries, gelato places, and many more. The hotel is clean, spacious, it has two elevators (a plus if you travel with heavy suitcases). The mini bar was included in the price which was another happy surprise for us. We will stay here again in the future.
