Rideau Residence University of Ottawa

The rooms are very basic but clean. The front desk ladies were amazing. Our television didn’t work, and I expressed that my partner would be working and I would be staying most of the time in the room and would need television. She had the technician come and look but couldn’t fix it. She then looked at their other properties and moved us to the property on campus, which was a two bedroom suite. She went above and beyond to accommodate me. Not to mention when we first got there it was 10:30, and she had us come back at 12 pm so we could check in early instead of at 4pm. The staff are amazing at this location and the campus location. Would definitely recommend both locations. The Rideau is right across from a lcbo so yes there are homeless people hanging out but they don’t bother anyone. The campus location was very safe.

We always stay in student housing in summer. Friendly staff. Don't expect Hotel level service, for that stay in a Hotel. There is a parking lot next to the residence which has insane parking fees and timings.

Everything was great and the staff were very helpful. The only thing to note is the mattresses are very hard, which I like. A new grocery store (METRO) is opening across the street for your munchies. There's lots of fast food options in the area. The area and the walk to the Rideau Centre is through a very sketchy area with lots of homeless, drug users and pan handlers.
