The Shangri-La Toronto lives up to the expectations of its name. The staff, from the bellboys, to check-in staff, the maids, and other persons at the hotel, were all quite friendly, courteous and helpful. The staff was considerate in facilitating an early check-in as my flight arrived much before check-in, while I also received a complementary bottle of wine for celebrating my girlfriend's birthday at the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are equally beautiful. It is situated nearby a number of restaurants and coffee shops, and has a mini grocery store opposite the hotel. I would only say one, likely a one off issue that I had, which was that the top bedsheet caused me to itch a bit.

I had the most amazing experience! Ive been experimenting with many luxury hotels in toronto when i come to visit my family in the area....and the Shangri-la far exceeded my expecation of what i thought it would be! From the moment i got out of the car to being greeted to checking in and staying, i have no bad review only the appreciation of just feeling very inportant and most of all safe ! This place made me feel very safe and to me that was very important...Thank you Shangri-la! I am more sad to leave the hotel just for the amazing customer service, safety and comfort.... than i am to leave toronto! I will definitely be coming back here again on my next visit to toronto l! Keep up the amazing work!

Lobby is lovely! Rooms need updating. The sofa was in a really poor state and needs to be replaced. The shower had black mold growing all over. The room decor is quite blah and not in line with the glamour and warmth of the lobby. Service was hit and miss. Some staff were kind, from others there was little customer warmth. Overall this hotel has some nice elements (particularly the lobby) but otherwise does not feel like a five star hotel especially when compared to five star properties in other parts of the world. I don’t think I would stay again, especially given the price tag.

Overall this was an excellent experience. All the staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and comfortable. The restaurants serve great food. Will stay here again.
