Excellent location near a metro station

Nice hotel but needs renovation - looking a bit tried

The Kempinski was a wonderful hotel with large clean rooms, great location close to the Metro and excellent service. It also has a large pool area and gymnasium and a delicious buffet breakfast for all nationalities.

Good location, the hotel was updated and nice. the only thing was the service. staff at front desk was OK, but once out of the front desk, staff is not very helpful. Door people won't even offer a help to grab a cab!!! the reason was "I am the only one here and can't leave to grab a taxi for you". What a joke! never had this kind of experience/service in hotels at this scale.

Hotel too old

This is a hotel with smoking rooms (most floors are smoking floor). There is no such info on hotel.com website. We got the hotel after mid night, the check-in was very slow. Then when we got to the room, we found that it is a smoking room. We had to go down to line up again for a none smoking room. It was after 2am after we finally got into the room. I was very tired and wanted to make a tea and found out that they forgot to provide tea bags and instant coffee. The room carpet is very dirty and has not been steam cleaned for a long time. Dust on the furniture surface. I sunk in when I sat on the sofa. We booked with breakfast. The food was awful. I never had such bad western food before. And the Chinese food is also below average. There is a counter to take order to cook noodle/wonton/dumpling for customers. Two male staffs work there both have very bad attitude, very rude and forgot about the order. The local area has no shopping, no ok restaurant. We booked the hotel because we thought it will have the standard of Kempinski. But it is only a 3 star hotel.

Overnight stay while transiting through China

This was a nice hotel to stay in. The room was comfy and the price was good. A couple of the employees spoke some English, but it was better than other places that I stayed at.

Great hotel one of the best I've stayed in China

We will start going to Chengdu on a regular basis. After our stay this will be our home in Chengdu. One of the best hotels we have stayed in

Great Breakfast. Cordial staff. Very good location

Good hotel in a good location for going to see the pandas - only 30 minutes by car. Loved that the room has a Phillips docking station to charge your phone. The shower is fabulous with all the different jet sprays. Only negative is that the staff makes quite a lot of noise in the corridors when cleaning and chat loudly to each other very early in the mornings.

Horrible environment. Horrible service. Bad room condition.

Ideally located near Airport with taxi ride of about 20 minutes as traffic is terrible in Chengdu. From the Hotel it-s about a 7 min walk to the next Metro station which brings you to the city center. There are also plenty of taxis available around the Hotel. Hotel itself is rather old for a Kempinski standard but ok

Great service with very friendly staff. Good location as well. Definitely will stay there again!
