The curtains in the bedroom were frankly disgusting, they were ripped and torn and looked dirty.

Very friendly staff throughout the Hotel, always happy to help. Breakfasts were Brilliant and set up very well with a really fantastic choice.

Great staff - Nina was especially helpful and kind. Room nice and restaurant food good. Nice facilities and comfy firm bed.

Rooms were too hot at night

The room was good apart from too hot . Slept with windows open as the radiator could not be adjusted . Shower not very warm

Our Suite was very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was a little small for a suite and one of the wall lights were not working. Room was very cold when we arrived. The central heating in the room was completely turned off. We manage to get both radiators on again and there were two electric fires in the suite for added warmth. Breakfast was good. Pool was nice with a hot spa tub. Surrounding grounds were nice for a walk. We did not eat evening meal on this occasion as we went to a nearby Indian Restaurant for dinner. Would stay again. General feel of the hotel is a little tired but clean and comfortable.

Dust on the lights above mirror in bathroom. Toothpaste on the mirror. Suspect hair in the bath. Thick dust on the bead head. Heavy staining on the bathroom pipes. Over priced breakfast . greasy burger and onion rings.

We booked one night as we were spending Christmas with relatives near by and this hotel has a reputation for being excellent. The staff on reception were friendly but unfortunately it went down hill from there. Our room was on the second floor about as far from reception as possible. I think this must be because we booked through Expedia as we have experienced this at other hotels when booking through an agency. The lift was situated down some stairs from reception and the stair lift was out of order so not great for disabled guests. The corridors were quite nice and looked as if they had new carpets. The room was a different story quite small, which wasn't a problem, and the beds were comfortable although the duvet cover had some stains on it. The cover had been laundered so just a bit disappointing that it wasn't checked before being put on the bed. The net curtains were dirty and had a number of holes and splits in them. One of the bath towels had a big hole in it. The decor was tired and there was a lot of peeling paint around the windows. The heating was traditional radiators but we couldn't turn it off so the room was too hot. The carpet definitely needs cleaning. The wardrobe had 4 hangers with no draw or shelf space or even a stand to put a case on! Having said that, it was quiet and served the purpose. OK for one night but I wouldn't want to spend more than one night.

Stayed many times now as such great hotel the health club with the swimming pool is amazing

The floors in our room had obviously not been hoovered/mopped before we arrived as there was a lot of hair. We called down and was told someone would come up to clean but no one ever arrived. Breakfast was very nice though.

Clean and tidy room, only issue was it was so cold ,radiator never came on

The room was cold smelt “damp” a plug in portable radiator as the main one didn’t work which was too small for the size of the room. I am also not a cold person. No hairdryer in the room had to phone down for one which was brought up in 10 mins. Have stayed in this hotel many times but needs attention paid to it.

Nice hotel. It varied a lot in decor and condition throughout. Doors felt a bit dated. Very clean and excellent comfy large beds. It was mostly quiet but you could hear activity outside and other guests. No major problems though. Really nic staff

Took 15 minutes to check in at an understaffed reception. Bedroom was like a sauna.

It was a lovely little getaway the only problem I could say is be careful when walking around the stairs as staff chuck pillows down the stairs

Hadn't realised it was a dog friendly hotel. Everything seemed short... Duvet, shower curtain, of bin bags, of smoothies. Unfortunately, no cover between hotel and swimming pool, not pleasant when it was raining. Really enjoyed the breakfast, continental and cooked.

A good stay for a business trip. Friendly staff, comfortable room, good gym and nice breakfast, all thats needed!

We stayed for 2 nights, on first impressions the outside looks a bit dated but reception looked more modern inside, check in was easy and the receptionist was polite and friendly I’ll start with negatives first: We booked a privilege room with lake view, I think calling it a lake view is a push as you could barely see it, the room was a bit old fashioned and there were burn marks on the carpet, the toilet roll holder was broken, hardly any tv channels worked, and the only plug socket by the bed didn’t work, the walls are thin and we could here the tv from the next room, the windows are single glazed and only one of these opened We had a meal in the restaurant on the 2nd night and for the price would have expected a more, the manager I assume as he was the only one in a suit, had to find menus for us as he didn’t have any, and there was no drinks menu so has to ask the waitress what was available, we were not offered water even though other tables were, and the service was slow and staff not as helpful or friendly Now for the positives: All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman on reception on our 2nd night, who’s name I unfortunately didn’t get, but he could not do enough, he was great The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and the staff were amazing Even though I wasn’t impressed with the service and staff with our meal, the food was good Overall staff were very good but a bit more TLC and modernisation needed elsewhere
