This place was truly lovely, well located in the middle of the town. It is directly across from Newark Castle and its grounds, which are absolutely stunning. Check in and out of the property was seamless. You are sent all your information for access prior to the stay, so when you turn up, you can pretty much just walk right in and settle down. There wasn't a reception area or anyone around who worked there, but there were plenty of contact numbers provided on-site and in our information. It is nestled right next to many bars and restaurants, so you won't be without choice for places to go for food. It was just nice not having to walk far to get to transport or other conveniences as well.
We had two rooms booked/ One of the standard double rooms came with a sink and fridge, the other didn't - not sure why. They were both lovely, comfortable and homely, with comfortable beds to sleep on. The rooms were spacious and minimalist, very much what was expected. Would have been happy to stay here longer for the facilities and location.
A few niggles: There wasn't instructions how to operate the heating, the floors needed more care and attention for cleaning, and there was an issue of damp in one of the bathrooms, where the extractor fan was broken. Also, the free parking is limited to certain times and has VERY few spaces available - this should be made more clear.
Other than that, we were very happy with our time there. Pretty reasonable costs for the facilities as well.
