lovely hosts nothing too much rouble

The B&B was excellent, with a friendly owner and sparkling clean rooms. Their attention to minute things, such as leaving complimentary packed juice for our kids, made the stay even more comfortable. Even though we arrived late, they did not charge for the late arrival fee, which was mentioned before our arrival, making the trip even better.

Lovely B&B. The owners were amazingly kind and the service was excellent. Super breakfast and comfy, clean rooms. Showers a little lacking on power and one was tiny but was perfectly adequate for a short stay. Definitely one to recommend.

Excellent hotel in a very good location - 20 minute walk to central Torquay. The breakfast was excellent, the service fabulous and we were upgraded to a larger room which was lovely. The only possible downsides are the wifi is intermittent and the shower a bit pathetic.

As a single traveller I was given a very small room. Adequate, but only about 10ft x 10ft. There was an en-suite shower room. Again quite small. I also thought it was a bit expensive considering the size of the room and the Netley's location. Parking could be a big problem if the place was full, since a maximum of 4 cars can use the off road parking. Otherwise its street parking. This is not really a Hotel and could do with some modernising. Particularly common area lighting and modern sockets with USB connection. Mike was helpful, but I don't think he fully understood the danger of locking guests in with a mortice lock, on the entrance door, with instructions for guests to also do this. This is particularly dangerous, in the event of a fire, when the last thing on your mind is trying to find keys, to exit quickly. He has promised to address this issue ASAP. I felt very uncomfortable with this situation as it is, particularly since I suffered badly, in a Hotel fire in Chicago, with locked fire escapes, some years ago.

We have just returned from a great week at the Netley, Mike and Angie are superb hosts, the room we had was spotlessly clean and comfortable, their attention to detail is evident all around the property. Breakfast was excellent with all options available, Mike cannot do enough for you and we especially loved the fruit compote each morning. We used Torquay as a base to explore the South Devon area, loads of things to do, however if holidaying in peak season booking for restaurants is essential as the town gets extremely busy. Overall a wonderful stay with lovely hosts.

Lovely family room. We and our 7 year granddaughter loved our stay. The guest house is beautifully decorated, breakfast was lovely, mattress in our room was 1st class. Very good location, short walk to the sea front, will definitely be back. Mike & Angie we’re excellent hosts.

Our stay was fantastic, the hosts Mike and ......were very welcoming with a coffee and biscuits upon arrival. Our room was clean and of a high standard, no complaints at all. You are free to come and go as you please, and there are travel brochures with things to see and do at the entrance.

Lovely hosts and lovely place

Mike and Angie were perfect hosts. They were understanding when we arrived late and They were terrific hosts. The room was clean comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful place and peaceful. The food was superb. The position of the property was less than 5 mins to the beachfront and we did the walk along the coast road to Paignton and Brixham. Highly recommended.

A superb little guest house. Such lovely hosts. Room was small but perfectly formed. Fresh milk put in a little fridge in the foyer outside. Very hot, buy that was Mother Nature! Would definitely stay again. Many thanks!!

We had a lovely stay. The bed was very comfortable and soft. The breakfast was very yummy as well and they very kindly got me some Nutella for my breakfast.

The Netley ticks all the right boxes so it a perfect place to stay in Torbay, but the best thing about it is that it is so much more than a hotel, it is a home from home. Mike and Angie the owners really welcome you into their home and this makes it an absolute joy to stay here! I have visited at least 6 times and each time has been fabulous. The cooked breakfasts are delicious too!

Had two single rooms (me & mum). Great accommodation and service. If nervous driver, the only concern is parking - on a hill and many cars around at the weekend.

I had a fabulous stay at the Netley. Mike and Angie who run it were very friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a lovely break. The breakfasts were delicious too! All in all a perfect stay! I hope to return again soon!
