Galaxy Hotel Iraklio

Galaxy hotels greatest asset is undoubtedly their staff. They are hard working and completely focused on delighting their customers. Anthi on front desk, Conference Captain Cristos, Erene and Natalia to name but a few who provided us with excellent service throughout our stay. Thank you.

Nice place to stay in the center of Heraklion!

A nice property in a great location. Very walkable to town, great local Greek food across the street called Neon.

Excellent location.

Very nice hotel , well maintained in good location within walking distance to city centre and other attractions. The hotel maintained vety good hygeine practices including hand sanitisers around hotel areas and on each table which was good to see. Good sized rooms , comfortable bed , friendly professional staff.

This was a large traditional hotel. There was a buffet breakfast and all the food was delicious. Our room was nice but the bathroom could use some updates. The shower got the bathroom floor all wet despite my efforts to prevent it. Lots of dining options nearby but the shopping area was a bit of a walk away.

The Staff was absolutely wonderful. Special kudos to Anna, Nikoleta, Eirini, Rania, George, Nikos, and Natalia!!!

Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us with a car park in when we arrived late at night. Clean, comfortable room and excellent breakfast by the pool.

We booked this property the night before flying out, due to the proximity to the airport. Upon arrival, we had a great welcome by the ladies at the front desk, who were able to check us in an hour early, and even provided a room upgrade. They were kind, efficient, and professional.

Nice hotel and staff. But the hotel shuttle service option should be removed from listing because it’s not offered anymore.

I don’t know if I received a room upgrade, I didn’t ask about it. As for the room, I liked everything except the outlet by the bed was behind a heavy dresser. It should be easily accessible to guests. Room 303.

The food was amazing and it was a 5 min walk from the city centre!

Liked: Room: Good air con, lovely balcony with pool view. Dining: Excellent breakfast & dinner buffets. (Greek yoghurt with fresh honeycomb, chicken cacciatore, roasted asparagus, wonderful cake selection). Pool menu: good chicken gyros, avocado salad. Evening dining area: beautiful romantic atmosphere. Pool: Lots of sunbeds, relaxing chillout music, refreshing pool big enough for several people. Poolside coffee came with biscuits. In the heat of the day we were offered complimentary fruit-infused water. Going out: Buses to Knossos & Archaeological Museum leave nearby. Staff were happy to recommend a sports bar & beach. Customer service: Staff usually approachable & eager to please & if we had a problem Anna & her management team went out of their way to apologise & make things better. Didn’t like: Full-board lunch being a 3-course meal; would have preferred the lighter pool menu. Very laid-back food service in 2nd floor restaurant & by the pool; the quality of the food usually made it worth the wait but it would have been a more 5-star experience if it had arrived sooner. Staff being defensive in response to minor complaints. It would have been better if all staff were as open to feedback as the management team. Final comment: Despite a couple of small issues, overall we really enjoyed ourselves at the Galaxy Hotel & we’d easily recommend it to family & friends; it’s a beautifully designed, relaxing place with attentive staff, lovely food & a decent pool.

The property is not very well located, about a 25 min walk to the main city center. Everything in the hotel area was nice and service was good, good buffet breakfast with attentive staff. The rooms need some updating and are a bit small.

Amazing stay and regretfully we didn’t stay longer than one night in Heraklion. The hotel is a 10 min walk to the port which is really lovely. The hotel is fantastic and the breakfast was superb, although we had to abruptly rush out after 15 min because we had a flight change and needed to rush. We will come again and stay longer to enjoy the amenities more next trip!

I loved everything about this hotel from the fantastic breakfast to the outdoor cafe. The building is in a good location with quick access to many cafes and bakeries. The location seemed very safe with access to ATMs. The staff was polite and helpful and our room was exceptionally clean. It’s also easy walking distance to city center.

An excellent hotel in Heraklion about 10 minutes from the port and the hotel. Konstantina checked us in and she was wonderful and friendly. The room although a little small was very comfortable and well appointed. The free breakfast at this hotel was simply outstanding - from the variety to the presentation - something i looked forward to every morning. Location was great - about 1 km walk to the main Iraklio city center / square where all the action is. The hotel is also 10 minutes from the port, 10 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes from Knossos palace (which is a must-see in Crete). They have a really nice bar on the reception level that is open late if you want to wind down after a long day of sightseeing with a drink (or many). All in all, excellent hotel and excellent staff - highly recommend!

Super comfortable, great location. Don’t do like I did and only discover the pool as you’re checking out - it looked amazing.
