The agriturismo is high on a hill with a wonderful panorama of the sea and islands, with breakfast tables on the terrace. A special feature was the weekly Sicilian music dinner with great musicians and a lively atmosphere, enjoyed by children too. The dinners we had were excellent and authentic Sicilian.

Beautiful location, friendly helpful staff. Room....although not luxurious was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Food was fantastic and cost of the meals was very cheap considering the quality and quantity. The breakfasts were also wonderful... best I've experienced in italy. The only down side was getting up the mountain road in our rented, underpowered fiat panda, the road the sat nav took us was narrow and very steep (at one point we didn't think we'd make it up the hill !!) however we discovered there is a better road accessed via the nearby town of Patti.

We were only to stay there one night before going to see the volcano island. That was a rough day for us, got a flat tire on a remote mountain top. Eventually a local man helped us to put on the backup tire and we were able to make it. The minute we walked in, we were greeted warmly and offered a free welcome drink and cookies. The guy Fabio was so nice and friendly, made phone calls for us inquiring the next day's ferry to islands(since it's Sunday) and our car rental company. We were really grateful to him, our troubled mind was comforted. And that's not it. Once he heard we were to leave before breakfast time, he packed 2 trays of breakfast for us! plus a whole bag of freshly picked lemons and oranges. By the way, the fresh-made orange juice was soooo delicious that we don't want any store purchased juice any more. The next morning we woke up, wow, what a splendid view from the window! Thank you, Fabio, you made it perfect for us, and we'd love to come back again!

Way up in the hills overlooking the eolian islands, this agriturismo provides a peaceful escape from city touring. The staff are friendly and helpful and the evening meals are made from all local produce and served in a lovely ambience. A car is a must to get around.

At first glance this seems like a basic agriturismo in a stunning setting, but the reality is very different. The owners are incredibly impolite, ignoring you then quickly dismissing you. Our room was a 5 minute drive from the breakfast area, WiFi area (no WiFi in rooms) and we never even heard about or saw the pool on the pictures. Water was only provided when specifically asked at reception. The bathroom/toilet not only didn't have a lock but was on a swing style restaurant kitchen door and offered about as much privacy as a curtain. We didn't bother with breakfast due to the car journey! Overall an incredibly unpleasant experience, our worst by far of 10 stops around Sicily, and I would warn anyone contemplating staying against what would be a mistake. This place wasn't even worth half the money.

The hotel is amazing, and Fabio the owner is fabulous and very welcoming. The direction to the hotel is the only challenge to overcome, but we are so glad we decided to come and enjoy the view, the food and the hospitality of the Santa Margherita hotel. The room we had was very clean, private, and the hosts fantastic.

It is a safe, very basic, inexpensive hotel. Use it for a bed an shower. Its nice to have it out of the hubbub of Cefalu. The desk staff was very nice and helpful. Parking is rigt there. Easy access from higjway. On the downside, the shower was so small you couldn't reach up to wash you hair. The breakfast was really bad. The heater clicked on and off every 8 seconds. Your was noisy.

Excellan directions once you enter Patti. An interserting journey to the hotel but once there the vista is well worth it. The rooms are clean and roomy albeit with only terrestial Italian TV. The dinner is rustic (i.e. local specialities), well worth having and excellant.

If you would like to meet the real Sicily this is the place for you! This is the hotel the Sicilians go to. During our stay we wined and dined with a wide variety of Europeans and Sicilians (not that Sicilians are not European) we were also able to witness an 18th birthday party for 40 local people and well behaved hen night for a similar number of local Sicilians. The food was excellent and varied and good value for money. The view from the hotel was of the Aeolian Islands was breathtaking! We would go again!

Hotel hard to find - directions poor. eventually rescued by hotel owner. Plenty of space and some charm but lacking in attention to detail. rather tired old bedding. lots of outside space to walk in amongst lemon groves but poor pathways particularly to swimming pool and unfortunately dog mess from owners dogs wondering round unattended. Good quality regional food if a little boring after afew days. No effort to supply drinks or snacks other than the set meals- opportunities to supply the customer with afew extras and the chance to make money sadly missed. Gave the impression that thr owners didn't really understand the hotel business.

The hotel is not easy to locate; many winding steep roads, but the climb is worth it. We were given a 2 BR villa with a private pool about 1 km from the main hotel. We were greeted at registration with a glass of wine or beer and a very friendly staff. There was a set menu for dinner, 5 courses, very reasonably priced, excellent food with drinks included. Our second night, there was entertainment with dinner, local Italian singers and musicians. The view from both the hotel and the villa were spectacular. This was the high point of our 3 week trip and we stayed for 3 days.

We cannot fault the standard of welcome, service and hospitality at this Agristurismo hotel. A wonderful setting, on the hillside amidst the various fruit trees and overlooking the Bay of Patti, with Italy in the far distanc make this an ideal place for a relaxing stay. The dinners, although a set menu, were an absolute delight and a happy introduction to real Sicilian cooking. Never a dish repeated in a 10 day stay, and the same meals as served to the restaurant's guests and the properietors' family. It was lovely to see the staff picking herbs and fruit from their own gardens before and even during meals. The hospitality shown by the owners would put many a five star hotel in UK to shame. Nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile and sense of humour. If there is no other reason to visit Sicily a visit to the Santa Margherita should be enough to convince you to go there.

As a very experienced traveler with hundreds and hundreds of hotel nights, I dare to say that this is a place that reaches the top ten of good hotel experiences. Fantastic family that runs a high-quality agriturismo with a view that takes your breath away. Despite few guests in the low season, an absolutely perfect breakfast was arranged and we were even able to have our coffee against the sun wall at the end of January. The rooms are of course not particularly lavish, but it would have felt very strange if the rooms had ordinary hotel furnishings. It simply feels like you are staying with a family in the countryside, but with everything that a hotel offers! Don't mistake this for a farmhouse, although the rural feel is not forgotten. As I said, the restaurant, the rooms, the patios and other facilities offer a magical view and all in all, it is difficult not to find peace in this place with a family that does everything to make the guest feel comfortable. Go here!
