The hotel was really close to the train station. As soon as you exited the station you were able to see it. The room was Japanese size so it was smaller than any average room by western standards. Nonetheless it was sufficient. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. A simple addition that was welcomed was we got towels and toothbrushes in different colours. So it was easy to distinguish which one belonged to who. That was nice.

Staff was professional and friendly. I liked the system which you receive bottled water when you don’t need your bed remade. Room service simply replaces the amenities.
The only thing I would point out is that it would be nicer if there was a bit more variety of food in the breakfast buffet menu.

This hotel is right next to the train station, so it is extremely convenient if you're just passing through. The overall quality of the hotel pretty good, and I don't have anything to complain about. The restaurant where they served breakfast was quaint and good, and I found the staff very friendly. The room itself was clean and fairly well maintained, so I don't have any complaints there. You probably won't be overwhelmed by anything here, either. It's functional and comfortable, and that's just what I needed. Okay, one complaint was that after about 8:00pm, I noticed huge drops in internet speed, but during the day, when I needed it for work, it was fine.

The fresh market is great with the midnight restaurants serving tempura and sasimi. But the izakaya， Shiro Kiya (居酒屋白木屋）that the front desk recommended was so so. Expensive and tasteless.

Stayed at Sakai Ekimae for 8 nights. The staff are friendly, the free Wifi is great, the room size is small, the aircon works well, the service by staff is great, the beds are hard, the pillow are ridiculous (maybe not for those accustomed to them), staff secured our bags before check-in and after check-out allowing us to explore, the location is great with a lot of good eateries and a shopping centre. Would stay here again.
