I loved this hotel. I didnt have a single problem with this property. I accidentally showed up to check in an hour late and they didnt give me an issue about it. Its in a great location and is close to public transportation. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you could need in a hotel room. Very happy with this pick

The hotel is very clean and modestly nice. It's just what we needed in our Kyoto stay. I have nothing negative to say about the condition of this hotel as it is very well-kept and the rooms have everything we needed.
My complaint is about the lack of support from the reception and the 1,500 yen charge to keep the luggage. I had a fit and complained about this and they didn't end up charging me in the end. It's not a cheap hotel so we shouldn't have to pay for keeping our luggage on our check-out day. I've never had any hotel (expensive or cheap) charge me for luggage storage.
The location is OK. It doesn't really have a lot of restaurants or stores around it but it's walkable to the city center (maybe 10 mins minimum) and Gion (20 mins).

The room (a serviced apartment) was a good size and, apart from a few missing items (knife, bowls), was well kitted out. The location is very good. Negatives are that staff do not speak much English and the furniture in the room is not as well arranged as it could be. In particular, two twin beds was too much for a room of this size and more space for hanging clothes could have been provided.

This was a centrally located property, affordable and clean. A special shout out to the receptionist Mark - who spoke great English and give us very good directions on what to do and how to get about. He gave us the recommendation of the Toji temple at night and we absolutely loved it. Thank you Mark for making our trip to Kyoto so seamless and wonderful!

We booked the deluxe apartment which was great for two people. The room is spacious, charmingly designed and very clean. Really comfortable bed. Located in a great area.
The only downsides for us is there is no closet or drawers to put away your luggage and clothes, only a standing coat rack. Also that when the staff is cleaning the other apartments they leave the bedding and used towels in the hall ways and that is really unpleasant.

This is one of a chain around Kyoto. Our was located in Gion district, close to a number of temples and sites, plus a walk to the beautiful old Gion areas. You have to check in at a central office near the Kyoto station. The offered shuttle bus is only for those who check in early, but The busses to Gion are many and frequent, so don’t be scared to try this option.
Our room was top floor and like a very well appointed and large caravan in size. Enough room for luggage just. There is a washing machine, and then a fantastic feature of the whole shower area can have a heater turned on to dry clothing - AMAZING: I heated up a meal from the local supermarket twice, but the cooking supplies are very limited. The toiletries supplied were great and the shampoo and conditioner made my hair the softest ever! Maybe it’s the Kyoto water too. The staff were very polite. Recommend also getting portable WiFi offered (500¥ per day). Would definitely stay again.

Accommodation is modern and fresh, and reasonably spacious. Located close to trains and buses and a short walk from Gion district.
Note when checking in, go to the Kyoto Stay Japan Guest Service Center which is located on Karasuma dori across the road from the Daiwa Roynet Hotel and next to Family Mart.
