Accommodation Policy & General Information in The Orient Star Resort

Important Note

As announced by Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Tourism Tax is imposed starting 1 January 2023 for all hotel guests that are non-Malaysian or non-permanent Residents of Malaysia. Please expect that hotel will collect the Tourism Tax from you during check-in at the hotel. The Tourism Tax rate is 10 RM per room per night.



Document Policy
Upon check-in, you are required to bring ID Card, PASSPORT. The required documents can be in the form of soft copy.

Deposit Policy
Deposit MYR 50.00 is required upon check-in. The accommodation accepts cash and debit card.

Minimum Age for Check-in Policy
Minimum age to check-in is 18. Minor guests must be accompanied by adults upon check-in.

Accommodation charges MYR 26.00/guest for extra breakfast.

Breakfast at the accommodation will be provided from 07:00 - 10:00.

Smoking is allowed only in the designated smoking area.

Pets are not allowed in the accommodation.

Effective 1 September 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Residents of Malaysia are required to pay a tourism tax of MYR 10 nett per night per room for all registered hotels with the Malaysian Government. This is in addition to the existing taxes that could be collected at the hotel upon check-in. Please check with the hotel upon arrival regarding these taxes.

Please be informed that the State of Perak has imposed Local Services Charges at RM3 per room per night on every hotel category effective 1st January 2025 in accordance to Perak Hotels Regulations 2024.

Old hotel with Room without sound proof. Old Room also expensive. You can heard everything surround you. This place more to child friendly. Walking distance to tourist spot and sea side. Car park availibility which is good. But this my first and also the last visit to this hotel. The hotel just not suitable for my vacation.

Maybe could improve on some area like iron+board ready in the room, there was ants on the table, which you need to be careful to put any foods inside the room. Others, I enjoyed the stay there.

Room rates with real conditions are not commensurate. With room conditions no carpets, mere cement. The way the staff reprimanded visitors for not wearing masks was rude, shouting from afar. Staff not welcoming guest especially front office and f&b, manager also kekwat. Luggage hold at lobby about 1 hour + until we go back downstairs, poor breakfast selection and taste was so so. Only win about location and pool.

Old and very outdated hotel. For RM200 plus I can get a better hotel with better facilities in Pangkor. I had to park all the way to the back of the hotel and walk very far with my luggage to the hotel. Breakfast was served late to my room. Food quality was not up to my expectation. Coffee house was closed for some event and I was not allowed to have my evening tea there. Swimming pool was congested and no water available from the outdoor shower.

Old hotel. Aircond leaked in the room. Swinging toilet bowl, ant tv2, dusty room, slow food service. Ask to send food at 9 am. Only at 10 in the morning can I miss 5 call receptions!
