Thon Hotel Nidaros

We liked the location for walking. The room was very nicely decorated. The staff very helpful and cheerful. And the meals provided were over the top!!!

The breakfast and light dinner was superb and helped save some money on food. Room was great

The hotel is charming and right in the heart of Trondheim making it very easy to walk almost anywhere. The breakfast is phenomenal.

Location and staff were both amazing. not to mention the exstrodinary breakfast served.

Walking distances to train and buss service. Walking distance to town centre.

The hotel is nicely located near the the train station and an easy walk to all the central spots. (Note: it is named for the river, not the cathedral - the cathedral is a 5-10min walk away). If you are arriving from the airport, take the train - it costs about £3 and is slightly quicker than the bus. Room wasn't huge but was big enough and it had a decent view over some rooftops to water and hills. It has a kettle and a mini fridge. There are tea bags in the room but more selection in reception and by the breakfast room to take back to the room if needed. The breakfast in the hotel is great - everything you could possibly hope for from cold meats, cheeses, salmon to three or four different types of egg, bacon, sausage, pancakes, vegetables to fruit, cereal, bread and pastries.

Room was very tiny. Carpets in hallways were worn. Staff was excellent!!

Location is great for exploring the city. The hotel corridors are in need of renovation but rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was great too. It's one of those hotels that won't wow you but serves its purpose!

Good staff, nice shower but bed wasn’t comfortable and there was a noisy bar in the alley outside our window that kept us awake until 1am. There is no AC so we had to open the window to cool the room which made the noise worse.

Arrived late from train. Although there was tea and coffee available there was no milk anywhere. Room itself was well equipped, liked the kettle and fridge. Great breakfast.

Very small bathroom with no counter space. Excellent check in experience.

Centrally located with an airport bus stop located right outsid and very walkable to restaurants, shops and the cathedral. Very good buffet breakfast with coffee machines in lobby and outside restaurant. Rooms were clean and modern with comfortable beds. Gym on small side but empty when we visited. Overall very good value for money.

We stayed for 3 nights. On the 3rd night there was a very noisy party in the room next door. Young men screaming loud music etc. I called down to the front desk and the clerk told me that the group was leaving for town. The noise kept up. I called down again and the clerk then told me that the noise was outside and “wear earplugs “, he wasn’t going to do anything about it. I told him we were in an inner room and that is was not outside and he needed to come up to our room and listen. He refused to. So I had to go out into the hall in my PJs to figure out which room it was (it was right next store). I had to call down a 3rd time and the clerk finally came up and shut down the party. Horrible service to just blow me off that many times. The only reason I give them a “2” for the service is before this on the first two nights the service was much better. I do not feel like the service is at the same level as the other Thon hotels we have stayed at

Great place to stay in central Trondheim, close to the station and ferry terminal. Staff very friendly and helpful and hotel very comfortable.

Good hotel in the heart of Trondheim, comfortable rooms with everything that you need, fast wifi, good gym and restaurant. Close to bars and restaurants as well as main stream shopping.

Good service, great breakfast, comfortable bed. The room I got wasn't very well located. One window right in front of the restaurant - had to leave the curtains closed all the time. Also, a bit of noise from the street.
