Thon Hotel Slottsparken

A very good stay at the Thon Hotel Slottsparken. The main reason for selecting the hotel was the availability to accommodate 3 adults (adult daughter still loves free holidays!) and the 'Business' room option worked our perfectly with plenty of room for us all. Location wise it was very close to the palace in a nice quiet area whilst also being less than a 10 minute walk to the centre of Oslo and the Nationaltheatret train station which has a direct link to the airport. Special mention for the breakfast which is amongst the best we've ever experienced. The quality and variety of food was excellent, and even more impressive given it was the Christmas holidays. The only small negative was that we were missed by housekeeping and our room wasn't serviced for our second day but that aside we would highly recommend this hotel for its good location and,relative to the cost of hotels in Oslo, very good value for money

Great hotel at good location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thon Hotel Slottsparken! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic, and the sommelier (Matthieu) in the downstairs wine bar was incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. He made some wonderful wine and beer recommendations for us. The hotel rooms were simple but had everything we needed, including a kitchenette. The location was across the street from the Royal Palace and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping. We would definitely stay at this Thon location again! Thank you for a lovely time in Oslo!

Best breakfast

I had a comfortable stay at Thon hotel. The room (queen bed) was very spacious & clean; it had all the necessities (bathrobe, iron, kettle, etc.); bed was comfortable; room furnished/decorated simple but pleasant. The breakfast was very good and with large variety. Location is excellent, just across the royal park. Towels were a bit thin. The building, the reception area and the hallways don't look very attractive.

Never seen such a rude staff, cleaner did not clean the room. Slammed it hard when requested. Was shocking such people are employed. There was no one at reception ( rookie trainee) who told manager Not site to deal with problems. Why let out hotel if no one to look after issues and why employ people who do not want to do their jobs. Stay away from this

Very friendly staff, good location of the hotel next to the royal palace and everything is walkable distance. Amazing breakfast - 5 star!!! - very large breakfast room and lots of food choices - lots of traditional Norwegian choices and everything is super tasty and clean, and just amazing quality ! The room was clean, everything we needed, only the pillows were very soft and small, we had to ask for 6 extra pillows just to give our heads some lift ahha

I use Thon in Norway because I have VIP status as a member of their rewards program but the preferred rate was higher than Hotels.com. Our room did not have a shower drain that worked and we had to place towels to keep water out of the floor. They offered us another room bit would not move our stuff for us because they have no plumber which works weekends. That was unacceptable to have not one person onsite in the morning of a weekend to repair a drain. We had to be at a tour so we did not have time to move ourselves. The next morning, we could not take showers because they never fixed the problem. When we checked out the most they could offer us was 150 NOK or 15 off each night.

A lovely hotel in a great location.

The breakfast was ourstanding, rooms fine, location good and staff was okay. Not particualrly friendly at the desk but the service at breafast quite lovely.

It is right by the Palace and Palace Park - it was an easy walk (although a little uphill) from the station. We felt safe and the room was perfect for our needs. And the BREAKFAST was the best of our trip- DO NOT MISS IT!

the room was small, but it was nice. The location is very nice, next to a park, tons of dining options, a transportation hub.

Great staff, amazing breakfast and lounge area with great coffee! Close to all that the center of Oslo has to offer!

Excellent location and very convenient to get around town. Breakfast buffet is large and delicious. Would stay here again next time we're in Oslo, no doubt.
