Great location in walking distance to downtown, Wharf and Boardwalk.
Room was clean and beds comfortable. Old but so don’t expect perfection, but price is great off/on season.

The people in the room next to mine came in late and were pretty noisey, and i heard a skateboard being ridden close by. I didnt get too much sleep.

I got what I expected for the price, a clean place to stay for a night in Santa Cruz near the ocean. Quiet and comfortable, with no bells or whistles. A nice bed, bathroom, and TV.

The room was clean-ish. The entry door handle was hard to open, there was a large yellow stain on the bed sheets, the curtains had quite a strong odor. The room heater and pool pump were so loud that they woke us up every time they kicked on - so basically every 20 minutes during the night.

had a late check in and early check out was very accommodating to use the safe at the property to get our keys since no one was there when we arrived/ left. the room was nice i think the best feature is they allow pets for just $25 i feel like most places cost more. the best where very soft and comfy the tv had good channels. the shower stayed hot for a long time there was some pink stuff on the floor but i just ran the hot water for a moment and it went away. parking was good to despise other reviews we parked right in front of our room however when i was walking around i seen on the back side there was a lot lot of rooms not being attended when it’s full parking is most likely scarce. overall if i was bringing a pet I would stay here again.

I would not stay here again. The room was very dirty and my kids feet were black from walking barefoot on the floors. The worst part of all was that the bathroom smelled like sewage and the toilet wouldn’t flush and when it did the toilet would just keep running. The door to the room didn’t have any extra security locks and the blinds didn’t stop any light from coming in. It looked like daylight in the room in the middle of the night because of the lights outside.

The room was ok, nothing wrong with it.
The real issue was parking. They probably have only enough spaces for half of the rooms at the hotel so you have to park on the street outside which is all metered from 8AM to 8PM. A lot of that parking is also permit only from midnight to 6AM.
We got back to the hotel late and had to drive around for 20 minutes trying to find a metered spot that would be legal to park in.
They also only have one employee at the check in counter and they go home at night so there’s nobody to help if you have minor requests. There is an emergency phone number but I didn’t have to call it.

Stayed here 10 yrs ago. This place hasn't made any improvements since then. Run down, smells awful, small painting and minor repairs could make it feel a little safer and less abandoned. This is an example of the remnants of COVID.

Facilities were fine: friendly employees, no frills, comfy bed, close to the beach, good price. Candy, coffee, ice water and earplugs available in the lobby. Tough parking, dirty pool.
But the biggest problem was the inability to contact them. They ran my card prior to check in and sent a text message stating that it had been declined, putting the reservation at risk. I attempted to call multiple times with no answer. I found different numbers online and no answer. Had to jog over from the beach to get it all sorted.
Turns out they keep a very small staff, and the receptionist has to leave the lobby to respond to the needs of guests. It doesn't run smoothly. Maybe not a dealbreaker, especially with how expensive hotels get around the beach, but it was pretty frustrating.

They have a horrible parking situation and were completely unable to accommodate most of the vehicles of their guests. I was forced to drive a few blocks away or park illegally and have my car potentially towed or ticketed.
