Best Western Galena Inn & Suites

The room was fairly clean. The bed was comfortable. The " dining area" was not kept as clean as it could have been. The pool was fine. The pool area was not real clean, and the hot tub could have been cleaner and hotter. Now I understand why it was so cheap. Would I stay there again.....NO! There are much nicer places in the area.

Stayed in the ocean theme suite. Loved the room! The surrounding property is quite, nice woodsy-outdoors view from our room. Staff was friendly and very helpful when checking in/out.

Above average size room with 2 queen beds and extra sofa and table area. A tiny outdoor balcony for each room, but not much use in January winter weather. But the pool and hot tub came in handy after a couple days skiing nearby. Breakfast was minimal. Only bad thing was someone else’s food from a previous stay left in microwave in our room, apparently not cleaned between visitors.

Nice beds, generous sized rooms, good breakfast foods. As we turned lights on in the room, stink bugs entered our room from the deck door off the back. We killed 5 of them, 3 on the ceiling. The lights in our room were attracting them I guess. Anyway it was kind of gross. Pool wasn’t heated at all but the hot tub was nice.

Front desk staff were either fantastic or horrible. One woman was grumpy and did not want to help with anything. The man we had was fantastic and helpful.

My partner and I went on a 3 day mental health staycation, we paid big bucks to have a jetted tub in the room so we could just escape the world and while using it the 2nd day we had no hot water. I am dying and my partner is stressed so she called the front desk and was told to wait 30 minutes, we did, we were told they had several check in's the place was a ghost town. We called back, we then were told to turn the water on all the way like we don't know how to work hot water, my Partner called again, was told to wait again, finally she made me call and the front desk person did come down and I explained if I turned it until it spun I would rip the knob off and that the shower had no hot water as well. We were told to wait again, she comes back which I give her credit for her was YOUNG! My partner was getting annoyed, angry and Literally I had to trouble shoot the water problem myself having her go check water in other area's and then telling her to go call the manager and telling her the hot water heater had fritzed out. this literally took 4 hours of getting up and down checking the water temp, running it, and waiting with a hotel that wasn't even a quarter of the way full. In credit of the young front desk person they did call the manager and a plumber was called and 8 hours later we had hot, hot water but the day was wasted away, my partner was stressed and the relaxing get away turned into me working for free while paying big bucks to not have the hot tub I paid for

Quiet and affordable

The room was dirty upon arrival and we were given a new room. This room had an issue with keycards and we were locked out of the room no less than 4 times. The pool area was dingy and dirty. The staff was not very helpful when problems came up, apparently there is no manager on site. The outside of the hotel was littered with trash including a discarded bed frame. We ended up checking out early because of the issues we had. The positives were the water pressure and the beds were comfortable. There was one front desk worker that was friendlier and more willing to help you out, I didn’t catch his name.

Nice & clean place

2 good things 1st... hot tub was hot & clean & breakfast was decent, although there was no meat. The bad...the fitness room...no tv that worked, no clock, no phone, weight machine was in bad shape. Pool room...no clock working, drinking fountain didn't work & was full of rust. The day desk girl was very friendly. Outside sign only said "Best Western".We would stay here again only if the price was the same.

The room was excellent and there is a pizza place and an irish pub with great food and drinks and staff within walking distance
