Courtyard by Marriott Ithaca Airport/University

The room had everything I needed including a refrigerator and coffee maker with tea service. I loved the bed; it was super comfortable and the pillows and comforter were the kind you can melt into. The room was clean and beautiful. I loved the smooth stones on the walls: They reminded me of Japanese onsen decor. The shower was hot and I appreciated the water pressure. Adjusting the temperature, though, was a bit tricky. You may want to post a sign in the bathroom or put a piece of tape on the shower handle to indicate how far to turn the handle for hot, warm, and cool water. Trust me: It isn’t that obvious. The hotel staff were perfect, but the breakfast service was a bit sad because I asked for tea and received coffee instead, something I can’t drink. I loved the fruit and pastries, though. My suggestion here would be to put a spread of food and drinks and let guests get their own food instead of having them order. This way, they will get their own tea, coffee, and food and be happy with their choices. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would go back again.

Clean and quiet, effective black out curtains!!

There was no maid service during our 2 night stay. Apparently you have to ask for it. But no one told us that. The hotel is in a very nice quiet place but the rooms could use a little sprucing up. Peeling wallpaper in spots, for example. Perfectly adequate, just not superb.

We were greeted with kindness as soon as we walked in! The gentelman at registration was extremely kind, fast and quickly pointed out the bathrooms for me. Also, handsome. We we're quite sleepy, but decided to walk to the bar/restaurant, as we worked all day and had a looong trip. Immediately greeted by the most delightful tender, Patrice. She promptly took our food orders to go and got our drinks while we waited. Her conversational skills are out of this world; we actually stayed longer, just to chat with her. This gal knows how to run a business. We plan on coming back after our flight, simply to say hello to her. Now THAT'S some good service. Anyone going this extra mile late at night deserves a raise. ESPECIALLY for working Christmas Eve.

Airport proximity

Nice hotel. Clerk at front desk had no idea how to get me to Binghamton, NY. Sent me 60 miles out of my way in the pouring rain. Otherwise, a good, quiet hotel in a business park.
