James Hotel - Near Miami Beach Convention Center

It’s a shame that Miami Beach has such a terrible hotel, extremely stinky, dirty and neglected!

Not the best option to stay in South Beach…

We enjoyed our stay. Some of the property was outdated and needs small renovations. But overall it is great for the value.

Check in was very easy, there is free parking (incredibly tight) and convenient to Lincoln Rd shopping/dining, and the beach. Location and pricing is the only positive. The room was absolutely filthy. Food cakes into the comforter, didn’t see it until I turned down for the night. Toothpaste still splattered across the mirror, hair, soap and shaving scum leftover in the shower, pillows were about as thick as a magazine. Floors still had hair and sticky. Also be aware if you park in their lot you are required to leave your key at the front desk and is stored directly behind the attendant in an open cubby, not secure at all. They said you have to in case THEY have to move your car. Was not comfortable with this policy and wish I would have known prior to booking. Additionally there are some sketchy people walking the lot, Had no idea they were employees/help to move the cones and parking sign so people could enter and exit. This property has potential, but until they get their cleaning under control I will not stay here again or recommend it not matter how low the price or free parking.

Cost effective option near top Miami attractions

Room was way below average for $250 a night. The towels were so threadbare.

Great location but dated building. Beds were uncomfortable and bed covers were very worn and dated. TV had no remote and no way to turn on. Staff were friendly and check-in was very easy. Can’t say enough about the location though. Easy to walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. This is a great budget-friendly hotel.

This was one block from the Beach and right near Lincoln Road. In a brillant location for seeing Miami Beach. With a real quirky appearance and very friendly reception staff. Room was basic, big, comfy, clean and with a good bathroom with plenty of hot water. There was a fridge and microwave but no cups or cutlery etc. we didnt use so didnt matter. Car parking was also available. This was a great value for money little place

The hotel is in a fantastic location but is in very poor condition and need a complete renewing. The style is very different, with the walls covered with figures and weird painting, and that´s fine! But the problem is that there are many features in very bad mainteinance condition and we feel a lack of interest of the administration to spend some money and solve this. The elevator keeps breaking and the door always stays open since the hinges are 100 years old. Same thing about the room bathroom, with wasted/worn out shower comands, tiles and sink. There is no interest in making the guest stay any more pleasurable. We asked for maintenance and instead of having our requests attended, we got indiference and a very unfrendly attitude from the administration.

The location is very good, but otherwise the place was not clean. Our bathroom did not look thoroughly clean, with a lot of long strands of hair stuck to the wall and hair dryer. The bed linens looked drained and discolored. Their requirement to hold car everyone's car keys is strange.

Positives: - great location near the beach - well decorated - affordable price - friendly staff Negatives: - not so comfortable bed - very weak water in the shower - the fridge doesn't work well (the ice cream melted even if it was in the freezer) - you hear all kind of noises from the neighbours Overall: it's a good option if you are on budget and you are not looking for great comfort

Great Location for Miami Beach staff were really friendly however just be aware it is a budget hotel so general room conditions are basic however the walls are thick so could not hear any other guests during my stay would stay again

Our stay at James Hotel was excellent. The lady during check-in at approx 6pm was very welcoming and professional. Our room was spacious and clean, beds were comfortable, location was quiet at night, even though only a short walk to shops, restaurants and beach

James is an eclectic property off Lincoln Road, a great location. It includes free parking. Parking is limited but we grabbed a spot. The associates and owner are very kind and helpful. The hotel rooms are simple in decor but very clean with comfortable beds. It was an excellent value, especially with the complimentary parking.
