Sonesta was the Solution. I stayed several nights at a threadbare Hilton in the Marina District several nights before. This was a much better property. Comfortable, convenient, and close.

Loved the location. The staff are all very helpful. There were a couple of hiccups but the front desk clerks are amazing at quickly resolving the issues and following-up. Enjoying our stay.

Not too bad a stay. Excellent location. Front desk person not very helpful with the parking situation. Explanation very unclear -- had trouble getting out.
There were hidden fees that were not made clear on the Hotels website, such as destination charge of 9.99 and parking of 25, plus taxes.

The outside of the property doesn’t look as appealing as it does online. Across the street from the property there is a nice outdoor mall and movie theatre. That’s what really saved the property. The water pressure was diabolical and the room was basic. The tvs in the room are so small you can barely see them from the bed. I wouldn’t stay here again. There is a really nice Hyatt Place across the street that I’ll definitely stay at next time!

Everything was very nice but when I checked in the clerk did not inform me that I needed my room key card to exit the gated parking lot . So when I checked out and left my cards in the room I could not exit. Took about 15 minutes for me to get assistance and drive out of their lot.

We visited UC Berkeley for one afternoon during the Holidays and stayed one night at Sonesta Emeryville. It is located conveniently close to UCB and also there is a large shopping mall right across the street. Otherwise, location is not especially great.
It's a good looking hotel relatively clean. There is a pricey restaurant located on the ground floor where you can purchase breakfast and/or lunch. Parking fee is high, but for one night it was alright. Staff was very eloquent and courteous.
