The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek

Great location. Good sized cabin, reasonably well-equipped kitchen, but very dated, in need of modernization, and the floor needs leveling. Lots of potential.

Property was nice but is aging. Stayed here about 10 years ago and was very happy with it. Looks like no upgrades have been made since. Room was full of ants even though we left no food in the room.

The cottage was cozy and well supplied. Wish we could have stayed longer. Couldn’t access movies on tv - may be common on the coast

The beds were the most comfortable I've slept on in years. Best nights sleep.

The Cypress cottage is super cute, the blurb is fairly misleading however and it’s not secluded it’s literally right on the left-hand side as you drive up and directly next to the office so unfortunately, you hear everyone checking out if you have the windows open in the morning. The cottage was really nice and they have a real gift for the details, especially if you bring your dog children. If you have any allergies, make sure you require hypoallergenic sheets. Overall, the experience was very cute and comfortable, the fireplace is just enough to keep you warm and cozy.

it was quiet and relaxing

Very nice staff. Great place to bring a pet with you, complete with a pet package awaiting for them that was a nice touch. Rooms were charming but could use a deep clean in the grout and around the sinks/tiles/floor boards.

Booked last minute & definitely should’ve looked around further. Property is in dire need of some TLC. Bathrooms completely outdated & in much need of an upgrade. Cracked sink, gross tile & towels as thin as a dish towel & not even big enough for a child. Sitting chairs in room has cheap covers. Sheets were stained. Ugh. Just gross. Positive point…. Close proximity to Mendocino & the cute pup on the property.

Spa closed. Restaurant closed. Shower dripped in bathroom. Good bed.

No heat and no breakfast. The view is lovely. It could be fabulous

We stayed in the water tower room and such a nice, quiet, private weekend! Definitely recommend trying this place out, we WILL be back!!!!!

While the folks at check in were friendly this place was serviceable at best. Dated / shabby, they had done the best with what they had. The spa was closed for refurbishment but our room was supposed to have a whirlpool bath…it did not. We will not be staying here again and would not recommend.

The Inn was a nice setting in the forest across the street from the ocean. The room was spacious on a second floor with a patio outside. I felt a bit unsafe. There was no gate or security. Our glass door had a lock but still it lead to the outside. I was disappointed that there was no housekeeping. At that price I was expecting at l at my beds to be done but they weren’t. The bed was a tad hard for my liking. The shower head had low water pressure. No phone in the room. We had a small bottle of wine as a welcome gift which it was nice. The Inn was about 3 miles by car to Mendocino town. Not too bad if you have a car. Overall was a nice stay.

A quaint property off PCH and very close to downtown Mendocino CA. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip!
