We loved our stay at The Westin Hapuna Beach. The staff were friendly and welcoming and ready to assist however they could. The rooms and other facilities were clean and updated. We enjoyed the restaurants and food available to us. The only complaint would be between the cost of food and the variety of food. Piko was a very helpful option to keep cost down but each restaurants food options were very similar and that got boring.

We have stayed in many places around Hawaii, and this location quickly rose to the top spot. The views are specatcular, the rooms spacious and service is top notch all around. Loved the prearranged airport transportation and the ability to rent a Tesla for the day....right from the resort.

Wow factor and impressive view as you first walked into the expansive lobby. Gorgeous scenery and openness throughout the entire resort as it is set over several levels and stunning lush landscape. The backdrop was truly spectacular and the beach was perfect! Beautiful white sand that you can walk down for quite some distance. There are umbrellas and chairs down below. Two pools that face the ocean, on different decks, one was adults only. As it is a gated resort community, it is a public beach however it doesn’t feel as crowded as it was a separate entrance from the resort. We also went to other beaches and a couple other resorts however, we were so happy that we chose the lesson as we felt not only our beach resort as well was a step above. We loved the food at every restaurant and the fish was delicious. We did have dinner at the sister property, which was a nice option to see the manta rays and could visit by shuttle anytime, although that was a nice dining experience as well, we thought we made the right choice with our hotel as the Westin was renovated with a better view and resort as a whole experience. Honestly, we felt the sister property was not as pretty and had kind of an awkward layout. We would not hesitate to return to the Westin in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone!

The hotel was beautiful, but for the price we paid it did feel a bit lacking. I just don't think the hotel goes above and beyond to set itself apart from the other luxury hotels I've stayed at in the past. This is great for a quiet stay. There was not much happening during our stay. The adult pool area also seems mediocre.

Great resort with the best beach on Big Island. This resort is only 300 rooms which means the pool and beach is not over crowded. You can enjoy the amenities at both this property and its sister property Mauna Kea. The only downside of this property was the food. Breakfast and coffee options are great, but lunch and dinner restaurants are bland, poorly executed, and expensive. Overall, I would recommend and plan to go back.

Very nice hotel and staff. We were disappointed when we arrived since we were expecting to see a beach like in all the pictures online. Even Google earth was not updated as of yet. Sand was brown and water was brown. A river overflowed into the beach area and looks totally different now. Every day we drove over to Kua bay and a few other spots to enjoy some of the better beaches on the islands. This is not the hotels fault but we came 10 hours in a plane and it was not the beach we imagined. Everything else was amazing. The weather was perfect!

The staff were all wonderful. The property is well kept. The breakfast at Ikena was excellent every day. The beach was fun, but it was red flag 6 of 7 days so using kayaks, etc was not allowed. There is a separate adults only pool if that is important to you. This is a good location to explore the big island. We rented a car and made day trips to Hilo, Volcano National Park, Akaka Falls, Rainbow Falls, and south to Kona.

Everything was clean and service was prompt. The pools and the clean beach were within easy walking distance. Although the waves were big, our tweens liked that. We were concerned that the water might not be warm enough late November, but the ocean temperature was fine and pools were even warmer. Food was also great and they had a continuous shuttle over to Mauna Kea restaurants for additional spectacular dinner.

We stayed at this resort as a couple for five days during the Thanksgiving holiday, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, offering direct access to the beach, two inviting pools, and all the amenities you need to unwind and enjoy your time, whether you’re traveling with kids or not. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. The dining options were a highlight: • Piko was our go-to for drinks and coffee—a great spot to start or end the day. • Ikena offered a fantastic breakfast buffet that we highly recommend. The selection was excellent, and the pricing was very reasonable. • Naupaka served great drinks and delicious food, with a healthy menu option we really appreciated. • Meridia, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. While the location and views are beautiful, the cocktails were overly sugary and disappointing—stick to wine if you visit. The food quality was subpar and didn’t justify the high prices. • Engawa was exceptional and a standout experience for us. The healthy, innovative dishes made it a must-try for anyone looking for something unique. Overall, the resort was amazing, and we had a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. The convenience of having everything we needed right there added to the sense of ease and comfort. We would definitely recommend it for a holiday getaway!

The hotel and beach are so nice! Snorkeling on the left side of the beach along the coast was the best we experienced on the big island or Kauai. My only regret is that we stayed and snorkeled here first and so my expectations were set extremely high. Nothing compared! A must stay.

If you are visiting the Big Island, look no further than the western on Hapuna Beach! This resort is beaming with luxury, but also offers a beachy vibe and many spaces to escape to on the property. The food at Meridia is absolutely incredible and it is the best restaurant on the island as far as food and views! The bed in the room is like sleeping on a cloud, And the bathrooms are exquisite, equipped with dual sinks, a bathtub and a glass walk-in shower. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and received a complementary bottle of champagne and a room upgrade, courtesy of our personal concierge at the hotel, Megan! From the moment we walked in, we felt the aloha spirit! Get down to the adult pool no later than 9 AM or else people will hold their chairs and leave for the afternoon. We spent time on the ocean, and the adult pool, ate at all of the restaurants and sat at the Pika open-air bar for after-pool/beach drinks and just watched the ocean. We took the free shuttle to the sister resort, Mauna Kea, ate at the incredible Copper Bar and Hau Tree on the ocean. Manta restaurant looks pretty, but has no view like the others. We went to completely unplugged for six nights, so we did not rent a car, and still had plenty to do at the resort, never missing a drop of its beauty. This will be our permanent go to resort on the big island! Mahalo!!!

I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about this property, other than I needed stay longer as it was just beautiful! The staff, everyone that we came across, were so friendly and willing to help with anything we asked. The grounds were immaculate. Being right on the beach made for easy recreation, and wow, it was unbelievable! If God is willing, we will be back!
