Excellent first time experience. Outstanding and consistent customer service.

The service was fantastic and the room amenities were great - even if the room was a bit small for a king-sized bed. Not being familiar with SF, we didn't realize that walking anywhere from the hotel involved going down steep hills (and then back up again). This made the location a bit less than ideal for us.

Lovely location up on Nobb Hill with sweeping views of the city. The building is gracious with a huge amazing lobby and the front desk was very welcoming. It is an old hotel so just keep that in mind as far as room size. Double beds are hard to share but unfortunately there were not queens in the room.

The hotel is an old building that is not very well maintained.

This is our absolute favorite hotel, not only in San Francisco, but the US. We travel quite extensively and we cannot exclaim the virtues of this property enough! The property is immaculately clean, decorated beautifully and has maintained the charm of this historic hotel. EVERY employee from the front desk to housekeeping to restaurant staff to valet parking attendants are the best. The housekeeping staff thanked us for staying at the hotel. Judy, one of the concierges, spent a great deal of time with me on the phone prior to our arrival assisting me with making New Year’s Eve dinner reservations. The hotel has a water bottle refilling station. The beds are comfortable and the towels soft and fluffy. The showers are wonderful also.

Classy old world feel overall. Would come back. Top of the Mark was our only complaint as it fell like a corporate banquet room and lacked an impressive Xmas atmosphere.

The manager at the bar upstairs, late 30’s guy, super rude. But otherwise, love love love this place always!!

The first people you come in contact with are the parking attendants. They are a group of grumpy old men trying to chat up the guests, really creepy. Terrible first impression for a hotel that advertises itself as luxury. They offer accesible disabled parking at no cost and then they charge an outrageous amount per day for parking and you wait over 20 min for your car. Overpriced sad ruminant of what once was a luxury property. The service and professionalism just isn’t there. Property is run down and not cared for and here we are entrusting our Christmas Holiday to them. Expensive disappointment holiday ruined. Paid an obscene amount per person for Christmas dinner and they didn’t have enough food! They did not bring out more oysters so we didn’t get any, the prime rib also ran out and it took forever for it to come out again. The dessert selection was truly pathetic. So we paid for bread, potatoes, salad, and a piece of ham. A total embarrassment.

The check in was very nice and accommodating. Great location and super comfy beds. Nice views, highly recommended.

Rooms are dated

We had a great time at the legendary Top of The Mark! The entertainment and food was excellent.

Convenient location and trolley 🚎 right outside. We put car in garage next door rather than vallet park and worked. Coffee in the room but no water kettle or tea which was a shame.

An Amazing property!

Great stay. Accommodations were super. The parking is very expensive, so be prepared for that (almost the cost of the room).
