This hotel was listed as having a 24 hour reception. However, this just meant they have one of those automated machines for reservations after hours. The machine did not have our reservation in it and so we ended up having to rebook and pay for a more expensive room on the spot. We were unhappy about this and asked the manager the next day about it and she just said that she didn't have our reservation in the system, and then dismissed us as a non-problem. So, completely unimpressed with this hotel's service. Beware booking if you'll arrive at night.
The room itself was fine; it was clean and had its own bathroom and they did have non-smoking rooms (though the bedding smelled a bit smokey). The heating worked fine and it was a clean, comfortable place to stay for one night on the road.
The hotel is in a small town, so there aren't a lot of other breakfast options (we didn't want to pay the 9 euros for breakfast at the hotel). We went into the town and stopped at a little grocery store across from the church for croissants and baguette.
