The hotel is in walking distance to attractions, and watching sunrise is very convenient. The dinner and breakfast buffets are the best during our trip in Taiwan. This hotel has great service. The historic building is old and room is small. It’s ok for short term visitors.

這次的旅行是家庭旅遊，建議最好是三天兩夜 餐點早餐和晚餐都有提供，蠻好吃的，而且這個地點正好位在阿里山森林遊樂園中，到哪裡都很方便 交通有接駁車還不錯 頂樓7樓的雲海跟日落是一定要去看的 早上的火車票建議前一天下午4:30前就去買好，否則有時候買不到票要搭接駁車，整個阿里山賓館大概有3分之二是外國人，感覺起來外國人覺得這個價位還好或許台灣人就覺得太貴。

Great location! Good service!

This hotel is amazing! It sits right inside the middle of Alishan National Park and the trails start right outside the hotel entrance. It's one of those classic hotels like the Ahwahnee in Yosemite or Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon. It's a little slice of luxury in the middle of the most breathtaking parts of nature.

The location is the best! The hotel offers transportation that has made everything easy. It has lots of historic stories and the gift shop is also great!

Probably the best part is that it’s centrally located among the various trails, in addition to being a very nice property with great service

The property exceeded expectations. It was nice & clean with modern amenities. Stay included breakfast buffet & dinner buffet. Food is ok. Close to most hiking trails and convenient shuttle service to the Alishan visitor center.

Great location in middle of park!

Top notch hotel in Alishan. Very nice hotel with viewing platform for sunset and night sky. Convenient shuttle to train station area for transportation and early ride for sunrise train. Cannot ask for anything more. Very good experience for staying in Alishan and good memory forever!

The hotel to stay for destination Alishan! Beautiful, clean and serene surroundings day and night. Great for families.

Nice location for the park.

This is my second stay since the last stay in 2017 (Modern Building). The hotel has made some upgrading to its rooms and is currently carrying out some upgrading to one of its floor in the Modern Building. For this trip, I stayed in the Historical Building. Generally, the stay is top notch for service, vibes and location (within the hiking trails). You have to pay for these and the good spread of breakfast and dinner buffet (Do consider you are at the top of a mountain). Did not disappoint me on this second trip.

All Rooms are terribly furnished including the suites. Room Toilets probably have not been refurbished in 20 years. Surprised to find that the property has taken on large numbers of local tour groups, probably at a rate much discounted to the price you would get on expedia or any international platform. Very limited f & b options, limited to essentially queuing with the hordes from the tour group for a cheap (cut cost) buffet dinner. They market their rooms as half board - though dinner is limited to what is provided to these discounted groups, even if you've personally paid full price for a premium room. They charge around 1k USD for a spartan 'executive suite' with minimal furniture! There is no other restaurant in the hotel or nearby available. What they deem as the modern wing is > 20 years old. The cloud deck has a profound sewerage smell. There is also day time incessant drilling / renovations until the middle of 2025. Not worth staying there just for proximity. As a heritage type hotel in a goverment gazetted area, this place gives foreigners a really bad impression of the Taiwanese hospitality industry and business practices. Be warned!

The property is dated . But is is one of the only two accommodations in the park. The buffet dinner and breakfast has nothing to write home about. The shuttle bus only stops at the tourist information. The shuttle bus could have stopped at the train station but it would not. That makes people with luggage very difficult.

Great and convenient location on the middle of the park. But property was poorly maintained. Dining staff was very nice, especially manager named Dennis. Receptionists were not patient when I couldn’t understand them since they were speaking so fast, and with masks on. They also asked all the questions and making me decide when time to book transportation for sunrise, and dining, and room cleaning, and checking out during my check in. I was so exhausted from riding up the mountains for 4 hours.

Alishan is a beautiful place to visit. With new train system starting 7/6//2024, people can take train directly from Jiayi to Alishan, it will be so much easier to travel up. The Alishan House has good location inside the park and provide shuttle services to bus stations (should be for future trains station too). But the hotel is too old. We stayed at the old section of the hotel though.

The hotel is at the center of all of the attractions: Sister’s ponds, 3 generation trees, etc. Dinner and breakfast were great with lots of foods. Yes, this hotel is pricey but it’s worth it.
