— Tainan Art Museum —

Tainan Art Museum Building 1 blends historical and modern architectural elements. Originally constructed in 1931 as the Tainan Police Department, the structure was designed by Tainan Prefecture technician Shojiro Maezawa in the Art Deco style with eclectic influences. The main structure features reinforced concrete, while the wings are composed of red brick concrete. Its exterior is adorned with thirteen-groove bricks, giving the building a sophisticated and elegant appearance. In 1998, it was designated as a Tainan City Historic Monument and remains one of Taiwan's best-preserved former police department buildings.

Building 1 includes 10 exhibition rooms, a workshop, a casual dining area, storage rooms, and spaces for artifact restoration and testing. Building 2 expands the museum's offerings with 16 exhibition rooms, a storage area, an interdisciplinary performance hall, a children's art center, a creative workshop, a souvenir shop, a casual dining area, and a scenic restaurant. The basement houses a public parking facility. The museum regularly hosts permanent and special exhibitions, seasonal celebrations, and diverse educational programs. It also offers children's art experiences and provides family-friendly amenities, including nursing rooms, family restrooms, diaper-changing stations, and stroller rentals, ensuring an enriching and accessible visit for children and families alike.

The Chimei Museum is Taiwan's richest private museum and art gallery, with its main collections of Western art, musical instruments, weapons, animal specimens and fossils.

Tainan Art Museum 1 is a building that combines old and new. It was designated as a Tainan City historic site in 1998. It is one of the few well-preserved police station buildings in the country. Hall 1 has 10 exhibition rooms, workshops, light dining areas, collection warehouses, and cultural relic restoration and testing spaces.

The building of Tainan Museum of Art Building 2 was designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. The main building is transformed from Tainan's characteristic phoenix flower into a pure and strong pentagonal shape, and then vertically stacked and staggered in various square spaces to create free flexibility. The semi-outdoor platform is shaped like a staircase to create a resting and activity space. It has become a popular tourist attraction in Tainan in recent years.
